I love this book from my childhood, I can't wait to find it for dd! All the smells mixed together just beings me right back!

I love making these ornaments every year too, this year dd and I made her handprints! It's really simple, 1/4 cup applesauce to 1/2 cup cinnamon. Mix and adjust until playdough like consistency, roll out, cut out, and let dry for a day or two! I add paint to look like frosting and hang it from ribbon.
This year I got crafty and made placemats out of the collection of Christmas cards I've saves each year. I think they still need some sort od trim, but I like how they've come out so far!
I always feel guilty throwing cards away, and each year's collection only makes 2 or 3 placemats, so I think this is a fun way to preserve them and watch the kids grow!
