Pregnant after a Loss

Update! Possible ectopic any experience is much appreciated

Well on Christmas Day I went to the er to get medication for what I assumed was a uti. Only symptoms were back pain burning when I peed and the urge without actually having to go. Well I went in and they ran my hcg which doubled yet again! Yay for that. But then they sent me in for an ultrasound. I was only 4w4d. They saw a small bit of free fluid in my uterus and that was all, which from what I've read is normal for soo early. The only other thing they found was a complex mass on my left ovary with a "ring of fire" they said it was a possible ectopic but they weren't sure so to follow up with another ultrasound. Ovarian ectopic so seem to be extremely rare. I haven't been able to schedule one yet but hopefully will tomorrow. Any experience would be hugely helpful.

Well I did have an ultrasound today, the sonographer found a sac in my uterus but couldn't see a fetal pole yet which she said is pretty normal. She didn't do an internal ultrasound so didn't look much at my ovary but she said that since she sees a sac in the uterus it's unlikely I also have an ectopic. The ob still won't see me until the sixteenth so I've just been asking my general doctor for the blood tests. Hopefully I can get another draw this week. Thanks for all the thoughts and warm wishes ladies!

  • I had an ectopic resulting in emergency surgery. It's awful pressure. I wanted to lean over on one side and stay there. Every sinapse in my brain was screaming "something is very bad here, get help!". There was no question that something was very very wrong. It wasn't just a burning when I peed. My thoughts are with you but it certainly doesn't sound to me like you're experiencing what I did! Love and light!!

  • I have no ectopic experience. I did however have a cyst around the ovary that I ovulated from which was semi painful the first few weeks of this pregnancy. The tech at my 8 week scan pointed it out and it went away on its own. She said it was normal. I hope it was just too early to see anything for you. Please make sure your doctor follows up.

  • I'm sorry you're going through this. Ectopics are scary. Make sure you continue to be monitored to see what your betas are doing and a few repeat ultrasounds may be needed too. With m ectopic, I had no pain, and it took until I was 8 weeks before they saw anything in my tube. It was awful limbo. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this.

My ectopic was in my tube, but I always get cysts on the ovary I ovulated from.  My ectopic was horrible pain, that made me double over.  I hope that your Dr can get you in quickly for an u/s to get this checked out to get it taken care of quickly before more complications.  Please keep us updated @Bree2109!
