Trouble TTC

Ready for the next step (long intro).

Hello everyone,
I'm biting the bullet and introducing myself after lurking for a bit because I'm just lost at what to expect next. I was planning on just sticking with TTGP board but this might be a better place for me. Please excuse any mistakes if I say something wrong. I've read through the pinned posts and I'm hoping to be a fast learner when it comes to participating. I've been reading through a lot of the older posts and love the information that is shared here.

So my story, my partner and I are both in our late 20s, and have been trying for 18 months. I have been diagnosed with PCOS and hypothyroidism and I am on medications for both, but still only have periods maybe 3-4 times a year. My partner is also on medications that cause performance issues, so I think that adds to our already complicated situation.

We have booked to see a FS in February and I'm just kind of lost at what to expect. I have been charting my BBT but have taken a break. I was struggling emotionally with all the medications, vitamins, charting and using OPKs, so we're taking a wait and see approach until the appointment in February.

So if you're still reading my long winded post, I'll end with some happier things. My DP and I have been together for 8 years and are giant kids at heart. We love fishing, camping and going to the beach as often as we can. We quote shitty movies to each other as terms of endearment. I like cooking and recipe experimentation, but I stick with the savory dishes as DP is a qualified dessert chef, though no longer working in that industry, but I love it when I find random chocolate creations in the fridge. I may or may not keep him around just for his chocolate ganache. ;-)

I work in the community services sector, mainly working with high school kids living with mental illnesses. I also do volunteer work with people on disability and getting them ready to get back into the work force. My partner is a shift worker and away most of the month, so that makes TTC even more fun working with his schedules.

Looking forward to learning more with you all, and thanks for sticking with my rambling. I always tend to do that.

OPKs for hopeful ovulation, if not progesterone on CD35 to induce next cycle w/5mg letrozole CD 3-7, add follistim CD 8. August 2014 - MRI done which revealed 2 fibroids: a 13x15cm fibroid as well as an 8x7cm one.  Super freak out mode over surgery plan.  OB-GYN/surgeon said surgery would most likely have to be a laparotomy (open abdominal surgery)

    My Ovulation Chart
  • Hi again and thanks for the warm welcome. Definitely felt like the new kid walking into class for a moment there!

Sorry for not using quotes I'm mobile and they seem to be acting funny, but I'll try to answer:

I am on Metformin 500mg 3x a day. As well as 50micrograms of Thyroxine a day. My doctor also suggested starting a B complex vitamin and a prenatal vitamin.

And yes RE, sorry, old habits die hard. My doctor referred me to this fertility group center that is our only IVF/IUI clinic locally, and to see the RE takes a while, hence why we're at 18 months with no appointment. I know they did say my first appointment would also mean meeting the OBGYNs, ultrasound techs, therapists and nurses, basically everyone having a play around my downstairs. So maybe stage one with this clinic is meet and greet only? Damn, they better have great cookies.

I have some blood work scheduled before the appointment and had to get the Pap smear updated since it was close to my reschedule date anyway. The receptionist did mention setting up a SA for DP once my tests were rolling.
