What do you guys do to help constipation?? Helpppp

I honestly can't even remember when I went to the bathroom last and I think it's making my nausea worse. My doctor just pretty much told me to drink more water but I need something that'll clear my system before I'm in pain! :(

  • Prunes >>> prune juice, if you can stomach them, but either has helped me! For immediate relief, that has helped the most, or coffee (I agree decaf helps too!).

    Also coconut oil - I just melt a tsp or so into hot chocolate. Upping my daily fiber and water intake helps, but with my nausea, that's been really hard - thus the coconut oil!

    Personally, I had no luck with metamucil, although I know many swear by it!
  • I'm having the same issue. Not going to the bathroom has made my nausea much worse. I've been taking prunes, drinking lots of water, exercising and recently tried miralax. Exercise seemed to help the most.

    I hope you find something that works for you! It can be really hard to function when you have pain like that from not going to the bathroom.
  • My remedy has been to eat two-to-three kiwis and double my water intake. Let's just say my bathroom experience was very successful!

  • Lots of grapes and apple juice always helped me.
  • I had the same issue this last week and I used Metamucil and it helped a lot just took a little while!
  • Activia yogurt seems to help me. If I stop eating it, the next day I can't go. I'm looking for other options tho. Maybe a stool softener.

  • Colace, hot beverage, lots of water, roughage!
  • Prune juice may give u alot of heart burn at this time. Apple juice and coconut water are good for that.
  • Fiber 1 bars-helped me the other day. I had eaten a salad, fruit, and a cup of coffee over days and no luck.

  • If you are constipated then you are dehydrated. Your doctor is right you need to drink more water. You should be drinking half your body weight in ounces. So if you weigh 150 you need to drink 75 oz of water per day.
  • Coconut oil cured me! I found coconut oil pills and i take them daily with my prenatal. Eating the coconut oil out of the jar was nasty! It also helps prevent stretch marks!
  • I was suffering really bad. had tried colace, prune juice lots of water Ect. Had gone to decaf coffee since becoming pregnant. Ended up having to do two enemas to help. My OB actually said she'd rather me have 1-2 cups of regular coffee to help me go than medications since I don't suffer from blood pressure issues
  • I'm experiencing the same thing! But I've found lots of apple juice works for me!!
  • Hello! I use colace daily and miralax when I haven't gone in a couple days. I hope this helps you. Constipation is miserable :0(

    Yes this works! Water, colace, and move around. Oh my goodness my constipation was giving me stomach cramps. It was miserable! Colace doesn't work immediately so I talked to my sister who is a nurse and she said to drink a small amount of prune juice and it will do the trick. Just don't take stool softener and laxatives daily or it will be hard to "go" on your own. That's what happened to my mother in law.
