Hi, I'm 8wks pregnant tomorrow and was just seen for a small amount of spotting. The dr did bloodwork to check my hcg level on Friday and it was at 180,000 so he wanted me to go back in today to have my level rechecked to make sure it was doubling in 48 hrs, I got my results back and it didn't double it was only up to 200,000, the dr also did an ultrasound on Friday and baby's heartbeat was nice and strong. I'm just worried about my numbers not doubling as they say it should. Any suggestions to ease my mind would be greatly appreciated!:-)

Those numbers are great. Once you're past a certain point - generally over 6,000 - doubling isn't necessary and is no longer used to consider viability. I'm surprised they drew blood agin with your first draw so high, actually. I was at 36,000 at 6 weeks on my first pregnancy and they only did the one draw. - Loading the player...

That was for my first pregnancy. I had spotting and cramping for the first 20 weeks, so they drew HcG levels. He's 21 months old now, so clearly everything was fine.
I'm 7 weeks into this pregnancy and haven't had any blood draws yet. My first appointment isn't for another week.
Seriously, though, 180,000 is awesome and a strong my heartbeat is even better.
