Placenta Previa with Mo/Di twins

I'm 13w4days with what they now think are Mo/Di twins.

I have been having bleeding since week 8, and last night, had very heavy bleeding and cramping. I went to my OB today, who checked for heart beats, and then sent me to the hospital for a level 2 u/s.

They determined I have placenta previa (my placenta is completely covering my cervix).

I wont hear from my OB until tomorrow, so I'm hopeful someone has some insight/information about this.

My biggest concerns are potential bed rest, early delivery, and of course the babies.

If you have or had placenta previa, how did it impact your pregnancy and delivery?

I had placenta Previa, di/di twins (don't know if that matters). I had no bleeding or issues. They told me to call immediately if I did have bleeding though. They also said is it's an automatic c-section and I wouldn't go past 37 weeks. I ended up going into labor on my own at 33+6. My placenta did move, but it was still considered too close for a vag delivery. I never thought to request a scan when I went into the hospital and see if it had moved more to attempt vaginal. I don't know if that even would have been an option; I had already decided to have a C anyway.

I did read that it will be an auto c-sec. I had a c-section with my first and my OB wont do a V-BAC with twins, so I'm already prepared for that.

Did you go into labor early because of the Previa, or just went into labor?

My OB has me at a 38 week cut off right now, but the DR at the Radiology dept said Previa usually moves up your delivery date.

I don't think it had anything to do with the previa. Water never broke, but contrax's were being picked up on the monitors when I went in. I was already 3cm dilated though I have no idea how long I was dilated as I was never checked. My OB didn't want to "mess" with my cervix due to the previa and possibly irritating it. I knew they'd be early, but I was in denial!

I had di di twins but I was diagnosed with previa at 17 weeks after a big bleed. I was on partial bed rest for a while, then had another bleed, then on complete bed rest for about two weeks, then I was allowed to go to work (sedentary job) but not do anything else. I was lucky and my previa resolved weeks before term - I'm sorry I can't remember how many weeks I was when I found out it moved. The MFM told me with twin pregnancies, previas are more likely to happen (b/c less room) but also more likely to resolve (b/c more overall growth of the uterus). I made it to my scheduled c/s at 37.5 wks (my c/s was not due to previa). So all in all, it was really scary but all turned out fine in the end. Really hoping for the same for you!!

@xtina78 thank you for your reply. I still have not been able to see my regular OB b/c of the holidays, so I'm anxious to get in there tomorrow and get a plan of action. I'm still bleeding pretty badly, and cramping, so I'm trying to just take it easy.

ETA: I have a home doppler and am picking up both babies quickly, which is the only reason I'm not freaking out about the bleeding and cramping.

My neighbor had it with a singleton, and said she never bleed once, but was supposed to go to L&D if she did. Such different information than I was given.
