Re: ***IUI Check-In 12/21***

  • I'm nearing the end of my TWW... this has been killer for me.  I've become out of control and POAS every day.  So far, nothing.  I know that my RE office told me not to test until 12/24, but i just can't stop myself.  I'm just making it worse for myself because each time I see my BFN, I get sad.  IDK why I'm doing this to myself.

Good luck to everyone this month!! I hope a lot of you girls get great news!

QOTW:  I've been working so much that today is my only day off until Christmass.  So today is my last day to finish holiday shopping.  I have DH done, But I have to finish our families today.

    Happy Holidays to everyone!
  • Loading the player...
  • @bluefairy5, I'm on the same page as you.  If this month's IUI is a bust, we will be moving onto IVF, but I plan to take a month off for a much needed mental health break!  good luck to you!
  • @cm312rn good luck on Wednesday!

@BlueFairy5 I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!  I hope the next week isn't TOO bad while waiting.  Hopefully the holiday will distract you.

AFM - I guess you could say I'm temporarily benched until I finish my course of Provera and AF comes since TI cycle #1 was cancelled.  I'm hoping (never thought I'd say those words) to get AF right around New Years because I'm impatient and want to get the next cycle started, but the last time I took provera it took me almost two weeks to get AF after stopping.  Here's hoping things are faster this time.

QOTW - No shopping was necessary for me, only DH and I exchange Chanukah presents, and I am a very typical Jew on Christams...it'll be Chinese food and movies for me!! :)

  • @luchich and @ lindy04aggie I'm so sorry for you BFN/AF arrivals.  I hope you can enjoy the holidays.  Also, @luchich that nurse sounds like she may deserve and early (small) TP for just not paying attention.  That stinks that you've noticed changes since the merge.

    @amlrunner good luck!

@BlueFairy5 I about fell out of my office chair laughing, so thanks for that!  I wonder what DH would think if he walked into the bathroom and saw me in the tub like that...might be worth it for his reaction alone!

  • 1. Where are you at in the IUI process? (2WW, meds, break, etc.)
Went this morning for CD19 monitoring sono, had a 22mm follie on the right side so they gave me the trigger and I go in tomorrow morning for IUI #1!
    2. Which IUI are you on?
    #1
    3. Test/Beta day?
Thinking it will be 1/6 but will know more tomorrow.

QOTW: Today is my last day of work for the week, I plan on spending tomorrow  relaxing and finishing up my wrapping, Wednesday I have to bake a couple of cakes for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  Going to do as much as possible to keep my mind off of the 2WW!

Happy Holidays to everyone and FX for BFP's in 2015!!!

  • @BlueFairy5 GOOD LUCK!!!  We'll miss you on the checkins, reguardless if BFP or moving to the IVF thread

I'm officially off the bench 7 DAYS EARLY! I don't even have all my injections yet (coming tomorrow).  I seriously had a 20 day cycle this month, and that's never happened in my entire life (lowest ever is 23 days).  I start spotting last MOnday, and just spotted the whole way through, so I have alot of questions to ask today. To say I'm annoyed is an understatement.  Baseline ultra sound is at 11:15am today so weat least I'll get some answers!

QOTW- Officially done shopping, as holiday parties started Saturday and continue every night right through the holiday! It's a wonderful time of year!

  • @cm312rn - I remember one month I placed a sticky note on the drawer that said Step Away from the Wondfo - you are stronger than this....It made me laugh and helped. Good luck!

@bluefairy5 - I have everything crossed for you. Hoping this is your month :)

@sweetball33 - burn the bench, although I too, would be thrown for a loop if I had a 20 day cycle. GL

@cupcakegal930 - that's a nice size follie - wishing you all the best tomorrow.

@lindy04aggie - I know the feeling - hugs and hope your sono turns out good.

@amlrunner - hoping your 2WW goes by really fast.

@shafwilson - I would be impatient too, it really doesn't matter what day it comes, I always want it to come faster to start treatment.

@luchich - you are not clomid crazy, I would be just as frustrated. Seriously people, take pride in your work and at least look at the file. This is already stressful enough, without having to deal with that. I'm sure there required to look at the notes. Seriously, this is when my sarcastic sides comes out.

AFM, I went in this morning for baseline and all looks good IUI#5 is a go. I wore my 3T Holiday Exchange socks to this appointment. The doctor and nurse gets a kick out of them. They love the idea of this community.  He wanted me to start 75iu today instead of tomorrow.

QOTW: I'm having a hard time this Christmas. This time last year all of my gifts would have been wrapped and sitting nice under the tree. I have no tree, no wrapped gifts yet and NO Christmas spirit. I'm gonna start wrapping tonight. The only thing I've done is setup the Nativity scene and watch Hallmark and Lifetime Christmas movies. This year is just off on so many levels. We normally go to my uncles house for Noche Buena - Traditional Hispanic Meal with the Pig made in the Caja China (cooking the pork in an underground makeshift hole), Coquito (Puerto Rican Eggnog), music but since my great uncle passed away not even 2 months ago it's normal for them to not want to celebrate and just have something quiet. Instead, we are going out for dinner. I just can't wait for this year to be OVER.

  • Hey ladies! I'm 12dpiui and haven't peed on anything since I tested out my trigger on 7dpiui (there was still a line, but very very faint). I go in for beta tomorrow! As I posted on the main check-in, the progesterone suppositories appear to be working for me because I haven't had any spotting, which is SUPER exciting. They are kinda messing with my head though because my boobs have been incredibly sore and I'm a little crampy, but the nurse warned me they would cause pregnancy symptoms so I'm not getting my hopes up.

QOTW: Our plans include a lot of travelling... DH and I are driving to my parents (3.5 hrs away) Christmas eve morning and then back home the 26th, then going to my IL's (1.5 hrs away) the morning of the 27th and coming back the night of the 28th. I'm all done shopping, which is good because I have zero time to go out between now and when we leave.

@sweetball33 Yay for being off of the bench!

    @lindy04aggie I'm sorry for AF's arrival :(

@luchich I'm so sorry for the frustrating treatment by the nurse! And for the shorter LP. I think 11 days is still technically okay, but I can see how upsetting it would be to have AF arrive then on an IUI cycle.

@BlueFairy5 and @amlrunnerI have everything crossed for you both!!

3T January Siggy Challenge: New Years Resolutions

Mine: Lose the weight I put on from booze and cookies over Christmas.

  • **other person's LO mentioned**

I had my first monitoring ultrasound this morning on CD14 after finishing Femara a week ago. Last cycle I was ready with one 21mm follie on CD14 and we IUIed on CD15... This cycle I have 3 follies at 13mm, 12mm, and 10mm. I'm going back in for an ultrasound on CD16/Wednesday and the RE thinks he will have me trigger at home on Christmas and do the IUI the day after on CD18.

I'm exhausted because I've been sick all weekend and now with this cycle being so different from the last, I'm pretty much the queen of too many feelings right now. On one hand, I kind of feel like a failure because I'm not ready yet (completely irrational and I know it), and on the other hand, I'm kind of okay with the fact that I have multiple follies because I know that can up our chances of getting one sticky bean. But mostly, I'm exhausted.

QOTW: I'm done with my shopping, but I am making a baby quilt for my 4mo godchild. I have the top done, and I'm trying to baste and quilt it tonight. I'm using minky on the back side, which I've never used before, and I'm worried about it sliding around during quilting. Basically, I almost wish I had just bought something at this point! Ha.

@amlrunner‌ all my appendages crossed for you, girl.

@cm312rn‌ I agree withPPs, sounds like you need to not POAS for a couple days. Every time you want to, do something else - maybe take a walk, read a book, or do some housework?

@deelopi9‌ that was me last year. I had no tree because in my mind, I had to set it up and water it and take it down and who was going to enjoy it really? No one, because I was tired and we have no kids and my husband was out of town. The end of the year is so hard, I hope it passes quickly and you get a fresh start in 2015.

  • Thanks @AnnaClaire256 for starting the thread.

I am waiting on AF to get started on my first IUI cycle. I took two POAS over the weekend and both were negative. When I spoke to the nurse at my RE office this morning, she still seemed optimistic since I hadn't gotten AF despite the fact that I O'ed early and have been feeling kind of gross for the past week (indigestion, headache, dizziness). She said to come in on Wednesday for a beta
if no AF by then. I do not have high hopes for this one but I will go along with it for S's & G's.
The other thing that is making me nervous is that based on the timing of AF and my next cycle, if we need to monitor or inseminate on New Years Day (if AF arrives today or tomorrow, CD 9/10 will be around 1/1), we may have to forfeit because the office is closed and there is nowhere else in the area where they could send me (apparently, all of the RE offices in NYC who would take me from my RE are closed). So FX on that one.

QOTW: Working Monday and Tuesday and then going to my sister's in VA for the holiday. I still have a couple more things to buy and to arrive from Amazon but mostly finished.

cm312rn  Good luck this week! I was the same way this weekend.

BandM14!  Good luck with that beta!

I just got back from my US - lining's good and I have 19 and 16 follies. I'm assuming I'll get a call to trigger tonight and do IUI#1 on Christmas Eve, or perhaps the 26th.

QOTW: I'm all done with my shopping, which feels awesome. I have to work as usual this week, but my evenings are firmly devoted to baking, my favorite thing about the holidays (and kind of my favorite thing in general)

True story.  Respect for going beta or bust!
Haha thanks ladies! Honestly though it's really just fear of seeing a BFN that is keeping me going... it feels nice to actually have a little hope, so I want to hang on to that feeling for as long as possible!

  • BlueFairy5 - Fingers crossed for you!

luchich - Umm...your complaining is 110% justified!  That's so frustrating!

I'm going in for my baseline tomorrow.  I had been taking BCP and AF never came, so I called today.  I'm a little annoyed because I had called on Friday and was told that they couldn't schedule a baseline if I wasn't CD1 yet.  And yet today, the doctor I spoke with seemed a little annoyed that I didn't let them know sooner that my period didn't come.  I tried!  Sigh.

QOTW: Heading to ILs for Christmas Eve dinner and my parents' for Christmas morning breakfast.  Then we're totally breaking with tradition and coming HOME!  We just want to relax together and enjoy the holiday as best we can.  All presents have been purchased and, as of yesterday, been wrapped.

  • That's as always @annaclaire256 for keeping this weekly thread going!  FX (and toes and knees etc.) for all those waiting.  Wine and hugs to those who need it.  AFM, we are taking a break.  Going to focus on the holidays and getting the adoption paperwork completed.  Sometime next DH and I need to have a talk about whether or not to schedule the WTF appointment with the RE or not.  We already have an idea of what we are comfortable with, and we are not exploring IVF.  So not sure what the WTF appointment will bring.  We originally agreed that we would do 3 IUI's, and so far have done 2 unsuccessful.  Anyways, that's for next week to think about!

QOTW:  Plans this week is (like most) all about family.  Christmas Eve we will be having an early dinner with my Dad, grandparents and Brother & family.  Then we pop into a family friends for a quick drop in Christmas Eve.  We usually find some sort of Christmas movie and I will enjoy my Christmas Brown Cow (years back became my holiday drink of choice).  Christmas day we will be hosting the in-laws.  Boxing day we go to my brothers for Christmas with my Mom's side of the family.  Most of us are older (like adult children, minus 2 littler ones) so a couple of years ago I started an annual Cribbage Tournament.  It's super fun!  Everyone participates, we have tons of finger foods and play cards!  Last year we even got a trophy for the winner to have bragging rights for the year!  Each year the winner signs a card and puts it in the trophy!  It's a lot of fun!  As for shopping, we are pretty much done.  Just need one or two more things.

Wishing all the best to everyone here for a happy and healthy holiday!  Hugs all around!

We changed things up this cycle (letrozole and follistim instead of clomid AND we have a new donor AND a new RE), so it has been a little stressful getting in to the swing of things. I finished 5 days of letrozole and have my last follistim shot tonight. For some reason the follistim pen really freaked me out the first night. It didn't hurt, but it looked a lot more intimidating than the little trigger shot. MH also seems to be enjoying stabbing me way more than he should. Tomorrow is my ultrasound, and if all goes as planned, our IUI should be on Friday. Both of our parents are in town (MIL and my father), we debated bring them along on the 3 hour drive to the RE, but we are now thinking that might be a little weird. I am so nervous that something is going to screw up before we even get to the IUI.

  • Hi Ladies! It has been a few weeks since I have posted. Well, I just finished my 2ww and got a BFN!! I haat all the waiting to get a negative result! AF came today and I go back on Wednesday to see if I can start my 4th IUI.

Good luck to all you ladies who are on your last IUI.

And for all the ladies on 2ww....hopefully it will fly by!! Good luck!!

QOTW: I have all my shopping done and wrapped. Have to make millions of cookies for the 4 stops we have xmas and xmas eve.

    Happy Holidays All!

  • CD9 ultrasound showed a ton of follies - 13.5, 11.5, 11.5, 10, 9.5, 9.5, and several in the 7-8 range. The nurse didn't seem fazed, she was hopeful that the doctor can dose me to get just the top 3 to mature. Honestly, I wouldn't mind canceling an IUI and using TI. :) So tired of the vag invasions!

QOTW: Spent all yesterday morning to late night shopping and wrapping (serving as "elf" for several family members too). It was fun but exhausting.

  • So sorry for all the BFNs :( Fingers crossed for everyone in the TWW!

I'm on cd8 for my all-injectable cycle. On cd6 they said they saw 4 follicles between 9 and 10mm. Today they only saw two between 10 and 11mm. So slow growth there, but it's only cd8. I wasn't too worried about it until they called with my results - my estrogen is over 300! Doesn't that sound high considering the size of my follices?? And they're having me go in tomorrow for more monitoring, when originally they had me scheduled for Christmas day. So now I'm paranoid this cycle is about to get cancelled.

Has anyone else had estrogen levels over 300 when the follicles are only 10-11mm?? I don't know how much I should worry.

QOTW: We were planning to visit my husband's family for Christmas, but it's over 3 hours away so it wasn't going to work out with the daily monitoring. So we're staying home this year. I'm a little bummed about it, but we said we were going to make trying to get pregnant a priority for 2014, so here we are. We're going to visit his family next weekend instead. We haven't told them about the fertility treatments so they are definitely a little confused. (we told them if we went next weekend instead we'd be able to stay longer, but they're not really buying it)

My husband was diagnosed with state IV colon cancer in 2009. Surgery and six rounds of chemo left him in remission (yay!) but with low testosterone. He took Androgel for two years starting in Jan 2011.
-SA in Jan 2013: big fat zero; stopped Androgel
    -varicocelectomy in June 2013
-SA in Dec 2013: 23mil/ml, really low morph

I'll be taking a month off then talking to my RE about IVF. I Hope all of you have great holidays and a wonderful new year!
  • BandM14. Here's to a "MLK Day" miracle instead!

Cupcakegal930 The trigger shot gives me tons of awful side effects. Bloating, weeping. nausea, changes in sleep and energy. Sorry you're feeling crappy.
  • @bluefairy5 Progesterone peaks mid-luteal phase, so as far as I know it's normal to drop a bit later in the LP. If it was my chart, I wouldn't be worried, especially since it's still .5 above the cover line. But, of course, it would be fantastic to see that elusive triphasic chart... :D

@bandm14 Nooooo! I'm so sorry. Kind of takes the fun out of beta or bust doesn't it. :(

  • Thanks for the kind words ladies. I'm en route to my parents and nursing a slight hangover from the 3/4 bottle of wine I demolished last night.

@BunnyBerry my first date with McDreamy is officially set for January 14th!!! Explanation for others: I decided to switch REs after hearing some not-so-great things about mine and some ahhhmazing things about another RE at the same practice. It's the only thing that is kind of keeping me sane, because I feel like we will be taking a step in the right direction with this new guy and I'm hoping he will give more attention to my blocked tube/possible endo.

The one thing I'm debating now is whether to do another IUI this cycle, or whether to take a break from treatments until after I meet with the new RE. I don't like the idea of "wasting" a cycle, but I feel like my mental health could use the break. Opinions? WWYD?

  • @humblebee2 I had the same spotting, mine was irritation of the cervix. It happened in the AM and the RE said it was probably because i was moving around after inserting the progesterone, he said if it happened consecutively (and it did for about 3 days) to lie down for 20 minutes after inserting the suppository. After I tried that the spotting went away.
