Bumbo vs. Bebe Pod

We have one of each.  The PT has us trying to use these to work on the boys core for head and torso control.  The problem is that their little butts are so skinny that they slide and slump to the side, front and back after a second. The Bebe Pod is smaller, has a better tray with attachable toy and place mats, but its more slippery.  The Bumbo is taller and better for the baby with worse head control, forces their elbows forward more, and has less slip but is still very big in the butt area and is very slippery.

How do you keep them sitting in it properly?

Which one is your favorite and why?

Re: Bumbo vs. Bebe Pod

  • Emma wears cloth diapers and that will keep her butt stuck in ANYTHING! Maybe could you put a towel or folded blanket in the bottom that kind of comes up around the legs? We have a bumbo and it's worked really well for us (we use it for feeding most of the time), but I can see where the butt would be a problem.

  • We used a regular plastic chair with a tray since our PT wanted something that forced Olivia to sit up more herself.  Anyway, we would roll up blankets and put one on each side to keep her solidly sitting in the seat.  It worked pretty well.
  • We have the bumbo. Marino likes it for short periods of time. The biggest issue is he leans forward and it pushes on his belly and he pukes a lot in there.
  • We also have both and I liked the bumbo better but that may be because our bebe pod is older and we can't put a tray on it.  We would take a recieving blanket and roll it lenght wise and put it on the inside around the thing that seperates their legs.  I hope that makes sense.  It took up the "extra" room in there.

Perfect! I will try that, thanks.

  • we fold up a light blanket and put it behind their backs.
