Happy holidays!!

I'm 36w3d today. Less than 30 days until my EDD - woohoo!!

I have an appointment tomorrow morning. I'm excited to see if I've progressed at all (from 60%/1.5 cm last week).

I'm feeling okay. Big, uncomfortable and tired. Also really irritable/emotional but that could have more to do with the overwhelming number of house guests we have right now.

QOTW: We don't have any plans. If I'm feeling up to it, we'll go over to one of my friend's houses. If not, we'll stay home. Either way, I want to be home with my pups at midnight because one of them is really afraid of fireworks. Plus, they're my babies and I want to be with them.

Hi ladies! I posted the check-in early (and had huge formatting issues, sorry! Should be okay now, but had to shorten a lot of it) I won't be at work tomorrow so wanted to wish you and all your families a happy holiday

How far along are you? 34w4d

Upcoming appointments? I can't believe I only have two appointments left!! Jan 5th, where I'll have the GBS swab and an internal exam, and then Jan 16th. My repeat c-section is scheduled for Jan 23rd, but still hoping to go into labor on my own before then so I can try for a VBAC. We shall see!

Any updates to share? Everything looked great at my appointment on Friday, so nothing new.

How are you feeling? I was doing so well and then bam - the last two nights I've been so, so uncomfortable and cannot sleep for more than a few hours at a time. My hips and down super low in my nether regions ache really bad. My OB could only feel her neck when she pushed on my belly, meaning her head was WAY down there. Good for labor, bad for my comfort. So I'm exhausted, but otherwise good.

QOTW: What is everyone doing for New Years this year? We are spending it at home together and doing an early celebration. I'm sure I'll be asleep by 9pm, ha! The next day we are leaving for a mini vacation to my family's ranch.

How far along are you? 37w

Upcoming appointments? Just had one yesterday - 2 cm dilated, 50% effaced. My next one is next Wednesday!

Any updates to share? The nursery is all completely done finally as DH finished putting polyurethane on the bookcase. I'm really excited about it!

How are you feeling? Ready. I hope this little guy hangs in there past New Years - I keep having bouts of contractions, but I'm trying to rest a lot to keep it to a minimum if possible. Overall not nearly as uncomfortable as I expected - it's even been easier the last few days, surprisingly!

We also hired a cleaning service to come deep clean the whole house, since my nesting seems to mostly involve crafting and making a bigger mess, and then just letting accumulated dust on the baseboards and windows stress me out but not actually wanting to clean it. Sooooo glad we did that, best decision ever! The women came today and cleaned my grout! They washed my windows! They wiped down my dining room chairs! They scrubbed the oven until it looks new! I'm in love!!!

DH loved it so much that I think we're going to hire them to come every 2-3 weeks through March to cover the "fourth trimester" and maybe longer term after that if I can justify it by making some more income from tutoring. I will gladly work 3 hours to pay someone else to clean my house for an hour.

QOTW: What is everyone doing for New Years this year? Hopefully having a baby. If not, absolutely nothing. Sleeping, if I can!

Hello ladies!

Today is my first day of maternity leave! I am 37 weeks and 5 days. My OB offered to strip my membranes next Monday at 38 weeks and 4 days. I am thinking about taking her up on the offer for several reasons, including grad school starting the day after my due date. Might be nice and less stressful to have baby here sooner if we can help her along. This all hinges on me being dilated, we haven't done any checks yet, so I have no clue what is going on down there.

We took our L&D tour tonight, it was a good practice drive for hubby to the hospital and we did valet parking for first time (since I work there, usually park in employee parking). Imagine we'll want to use valet when baby is on her way. I went a little crazy on hubby tonight, nesting like crazy trying to clean as much as possible. Plan is take a break from my crazy ways and enjoy Christmas Eve/Christmas. I emailed him a list of things left to do for day after Christmas day :P

@Southeryankeegirl Jealous you hired a cleaner. I wanted to do it and hubby said no!

So I guess he deserves my crazy nesting wrath when his cleaning is sub par lol

Feeling huge, reflux is still bad, ready to be done! All baby stuff is ready to go, just need to feel like my house is in order (almost there....). I swear having a baby reminds me of moving, good time to purge house of junk!

No plans for New Years yet, we'll see where we are at with baby! :P

Upcoming appointments? I see my OB on the 30th, and growth scan on Jan 5
Any updates to share? Not much new to report, OB was happy overall with the last scan, though baby girl is a bit smaller so we want to keep an eye on her, make sure she keeps up with her brother!
How are you feeling? Uncomfortable. I feel big and immobile at times! My pelvic pain comes and goes, today being a particularly bad day again. The swelling in my legs and feet is really not good, so I try to spend a good bit of time with my feet up, and compression socks are a must. The heartburn also returned this week. So yeah, I'm having fun over here!

QOTW: What is everyone doing for New Years this year? Not sure, I'll be on a couch somewhere though, haha!

Hello ladies! Also 32 weeks on Christmas day. Cold is lingering, but everything I take makes me feel like I'm in a fog, so I'm just sucking it up. Starting to feel heavy and I drag by the end of the day, but otherwise good! Have to see my ob...sometime...and next MFM appointment is jan 13. Since I get to "cheat" and check this baby out at my office, I haven't exactly had regular ob appointments. Kinda on auto pilot now, but MFM wants me on weekly BPP/NST after next week. I'll be doing those at my hospital/ob office. Nursery is coming along and I've done a ton of little laundry that now needs to find homes in drawers and closets. My house is a hot mess and I can't wait to bring someone in to clean once I find everything a home.
QOTW: not a clue. DH and I usually plan a night of dinner/dancing for NYE but this year we've been otherwise distracted to make plans. Have a friend having a party at her house and we've been invited, so that's likely where we will end up.

Happy Holidays!

I'm 32w today and I had my ultrasound to follow up on the placenta previa. The good news is the previa has resolved!

The marginal news is they saw a "normal variant" in the baby's heart. The MFM dr didn't seem too concerned but he referred me to have a fetal echo done. I will go January 9th for that appt, so I will restrain from worrying. I also have an OB checkup on Monday.

Nothing much else going on here, which is just fine with me! I did slip and fall in the garage today (DH pressure washed it for tomorrow bc they will be frying the fish out there), but I landed on my knee and butt. Little one has been moving around, so I was a little stunned, but I'm sure all is fine.

QOTW: No plans. I will be coming off of night shift the morning of New Years Eve and I have to turn around and work at noon on New Years Day, so we will likely stay in and relax.

31w5d today. Sent my sugars into my mfm nurse and they snuck me in for an appointment today. Thank goodness. I've been so stressed about being in limbo. Getting the meds she ordered was unbelieveably difficult. I think the curse of GD is getting worse. I need prayers or a smudging or something. The med they ordered doesn't exist anymore. Had to wait for the nurse to call the pharmacy to approve the change. Because it is only sold by the box of three pens and I only need one, it was almost $400. This was a three hour ordeal! At least they had glucerna diabetic shakes at walgreens since I was supposed to eat in the middle of the ordeal. Glad to be home for hopefully an uneventful few days off.
QOTW: Hubby has to work so I'm going to go over to a friend's house for an early movie. I'll most likely be in bed as soon as I've eaten my evening snack at 9:15.

How far along are you? 39wks 1 day

Upcoming appointments? I had my 39 week appointment yesterday. 1cm dilated and 50% effaced.

Any updates to share? At my appointment yesterday the OB asked out I feel about induction. I told her DH and I are up for it after 40 weeks. I haven't had any real contractions yet and progress is moving at a snail's pace. I scheduled my 40 week appointment and if i go to 40 weeks then I will also schedule a 40wks 3 days growth scan and NST. If i get that far we will hopefully schedule a date of induction.

How are you feeling? Today is my third day of uncomofrtvale and at times intense cramping. It hurts to walk, sit, lay down. My OB checked for an infection, but I dont have one. Its probably super early labor pains. I'm to call my OB if they get more intense, or go along with back pains and contractions. It will be intense at times but there is no pattern. Unfortunately this can go on for a while so until my water breaks or I begin to have contractions that follow the 511 rule I have to put up with it. I didn't want to go out of work until i'm in labor, but if I go past my due date of 12/30 then 1/1 will be in my day of work.

QOTW: I'm hoping I'll be in labor or at home with my outside baby!

Hi everyone! Happy holidays!

31w3d. Had a midwife appointment yesterday. Everything looks good except for a horrible, horrible nerve-wracking moment when she tried to find the baby's heartbeat.... in his/her butt. Obviously, that didn't work but she waited like 30 seconds before realizing she was at the wrong end. My foot swelling is still going strong so it was nice to get reassurance that everything is ok. It's normal to have cankles!

QOTW: My husband and I are running a 5K on New Year's Day. We'll be turning in relatively early so we're rested for that.

How far along are you? 35+4

Upcoming appointments? Have my 36 week next Tuesday - get GBS test and TDaP at that one. After that we move to weekly appointments!!

Any updates to share? Hmm - nothing significant since last week... new washer/dryer arrive this weekend (ours died) so I am looking forward to washing baby stuff and putting it all away, etc.

How are you feeling? Large of course and lately tired a lot more than usual - of course I don't sleep very well at night. Pelvic pain is manageable somewhat as long as I don't overdo it. New fun symptom - heartburn/acid reflux at night so I am starting to add Tums to my nightly ritual.

QOTW: What is everyone doing for New Years this year? DH and I are going to our favorite restaurant for dinner - though reservations are not till 9:30 - so that should be interesting... will definitely need a late afternoon nap that day! Then hopefully stay up to watch the ball drop and then bed!

For fun - I saw this on Magic Beans' facebook feed - too funny / cute - basically all the ways Christmas is not childproof. A little overly dramatic but funny - enjoy!

How far along are you? 36 weeks

Upcoming appointments? 12/31

Any updates to share? Had my 36 week appt yesterday - everything went fine. They did the GPS swap and cervical checks - so far, nothing! But the growth scan showed baby is head down, which explains the lightening feelings I've been getting! FYI: between the swapping and cervical check - it was totally uncomfortable down there afterwards. So be prepared (for those that haven't gotten one done yet)! Only good thing about it, was that doc was super quick!

How are you feeling? Overall tired and really really wanting like a couple days off to recharge. Past 3 weeks have been a whirlwind of getting things ready. Nursery is for the most part put together and baby clothes are washed and put away. Just having trouble getting the energy to start prepping the cloth diapers and decorating. Altho I'm very happy that we didn't flake on getting presents this year! Went shopping on saturday and now everything is wrapped and ready to be opened tomorrow!

QOTW: Right now, no plans and looking like I'll be passed out in bed by midnight!

DH is finally getting better, after over a month on medical leave from work, he may return next week. Thank goodness! As for me, I have BPPs, NETs, and OB appointments every week. It's exhausting. I will be I induced by 39 weeks, bc I'm high risk. I just had an OB appointment today, and my thyroid is still low AGAIN, 3rd month in a row, so another increase in medication. I have to go to L&D on Christmas day for my BPP, bc the office is closed, so that stinks. I'm exhausted, and having problems picking a name. We aren't telling family the name til she's born, but MIL keeps guessing names, and has said one of our two choices TWICE...even the nick name

Shes the type of person that will gloat forever and thinks she picked the name so I don't know what to do. DH loves the name too...but I kinda want to go with my 2nd choice bc of MIL. I'm clearly annoyed

34+2 weeks. I'm exhausted and kinda feel miserable. I had a fall on Thursday (baby is fine) but I'm still sore from it. On top of pelvic pain, swollen feet and heartburn I'm so done. But I'm loving the baby kicks.

Things are still kinda in limbo regarding the birth plan. Too many factors that we don't have any answers too. How big will baby get? How will my body react? Will I go into spontaneous labour early? Who knows.

QOTW: my bestie is throwing her annual New Years Eve party, and plus she's preggers too. So I'm going there.

I'm 29w. My next appointment is next Tuesday. Nothing new really. I'm exhausted from work, chasing DS and getting ready for Christmas. DS was miserably sick this weekend and is finally starting to feel better, just in time for me to start feeling congested. Great! QOTW: We've just been staying in the neighborhood the last few years at a friends house. There's a lot of us there every year and we have a great time. I'll be lucky to make it to midnight this year!

Hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas! I'm 38w3d and READY! I had an appt yesterday. I'm dilated to 3 and they again said any day now. Doctor couldn't get a heartbeat so we were sent next door for an u/s- all checked out well! He is just super low and sunnyside up. (That's why I've been having more back pain). Next appt is Tuesday if needed but hoping not. I'm feeling exhausted, itchy, anxious, excited, then annoyed- haha. The end is rough.

QOTW: Hoping to stay home with a newborn. Otherwise stay home and pray for a newborn and eat my feelings. Haha

So sorry that I'm just now responding ....

On December 23, after 31 hours of labor, Miss Alaina Grace made her debut into this world. She weighed 7 lbs 14 oz and is 21 1/2" long. Nothing went according to plan (but then again when does it ever) except I was able to have a vaginal birth and I have a healthy baby at home with me. Alaina is a very sweet little girl and she's very laid back. I'm so very lucky and so very in love.

I am SUPER late to this check in... I really just haven't been on TB much lately. We've had lots of company over this past week which has kept us busy.

I'm 37+5 weeks today (according to dr not to original due date). My cervix is still high and completely closed! I swear these babies like it in there and would stay forever if it were up to them lol. (Not complaining I love that they've cooked this long, just can't believe I haven't dilated at all!) My next apt is my... (drum roll)... PRE OP! I cannot believe I'll be holding my babies in two short nights. I am SO excited but at the same time I'm kind of sad that my pregnancy is coming to an end. I know it will be my first and last. I'm also so very ready to sleep in my bed again. I feel terrible. Ive just adapted to how uncomfortable I am. Lightning crotch, reflux, constant back pain... etc. DH and I have been nesting like crazy. DH is shampooing carpet and cleaning out closets! We both wanted wings last night so we went to hooters. The man sitting next to us asked me
"Are you due like tomorrow". (it didn't bother me I'd rather someone say that than "you look small for having twins") but anyway I thought it was funny and I think he found it amusing that we chose hooters two days before my csec. (WOW this was long, sorry!)

As for new years we will be in the hospital! :-) ringing in the New year as mommy and daddy <:-P
