37 weeks & babys breeched :(

just had an appt this morning to check if my baby's still breeched and turns out she still is.... Midwife performed an ultrasound and baby's head is on my right upper rib and says she's wedged. Anyone else going through this? I have a version on tues.

I would Google ways to flip baby to avoid the version. There are things you can try to do.

My DD was breech and at 4'10" my doctor was not willing to attempt a version. I had a c-section and it went very smoothly. Every situation is different but I wish you the best of luck with your version and however you end up delivering your LO.

My daughter was head down most of pregnancy and the flipped the day she was born. I ending up having a c section, which was unnecessary because she flipped again! She was head down when they took her out. Little booger! Lol! I guess my point is they can flip at any time and as often as they want. Don't get discouraged just yet

Yup, breech here at 37 weeks. I'm not a candidate for a version.

My OB delivers breech vaginally unless there is a prolapse cord or footling presentation.

But babies flip late all the time so there is still hope!

I'm 36 weeks and baby boy is breech as well. He's been pretty much in the same position for the last 2 months. My doc doesn't like doing the versions so if he doesn't turn in the next week or so im being schedule for a c section at 39 weeks. I hope he turns

I just had a successful version 2 days ago and I'm 37 weeks today. My little guy was a footling breech. The cord was also wrapped around his neck twice so it was very tricky but went so smoothly. My Dr. is really experienced with high risk which is why I felt comfortable attempting this and it went really well. Let's hope my little guy decides to stay that direction now! My little man showed up breech on a follow up ultrasound at 36 weeks. (he had just been head down at my growth scan) doctors sounded surprised that he had flipped breech that late. They scheduled me for a version to be "on the safe side" but when I went back for my 37 week appointment he had flipped himself back. My guy is freakishly wiggly and I can feel him doing all types of acrobatics so I wouldn't put it past him if he did it again. I've heard of a lot of babies flipping last minute. Good luck to you!

If my doctor didn't want to do a version because he doesn't "like" it, I'd consider another opinion. For ideal candidates, the pros highly outweigh the cons. Why get an unnecessary C-section that could potentially cause complications for future pregnancies?

I had a failed version. I could feel baby turning but then would revert back to head up. I guess she is comfortable. I also threw up but other than that the process wasn't terrible.
This is my last baby so I think a c section was the right choice for me.

Maybe try a rebozo scarf for sifting. You can look it up online exactly how to do it but I think its a fairly non invasive way to hopefully get baby to move into position.

Try a chiropractor who is certified in the Webster technique (about 85% effective) for turning breech babies, and an acupuncturist who does moxa (about 80% effective). In addition to the spinning babies exercises, these two things have helped turn my Frank breech baby. My next step would have been an external version. I will do anything and everything to avoid a repeat caesarean. I'm still dealing with emotional trauma from it three years later. Good luck!

My baby is breech as well, 38 weeks tomorrow. Hoping to schedule a version at my appointment this week but not sure if my dr does them. I'd like to avoid a c section at all cost. This is my first and would like a somewhat 'normal' experience.

If your doctor won't do it, get referred to someone who will. My doctor doesn't do them, so he sent me to one that does.

My DD1 was breech and so I had to have a c-section. I have an ultrasound scheduled for Monday to check if DD2 is head down or breech. As of my last appt (2 wks ago), based on location of heartbeat the dr thought this one might also be breech. Good luck to you!

You already have great advice on here. I had a successful version at 37 weeks 3 days. I switched obs at 37 weeks for a lot of reasons, a big one was his confidence in versions and breech delivery. The practice is an ob/midwife combined practice (one ob and 4 midwives) anyhow, kind of like someone above mentioned, when I talked to the midwife about the other practice she said if they weren't confident in doing it it's best they don't. She said unless you have an older doctor or a very young doctor there is a whole generation of doctors who were trained under the fear of malpractice and lawsuits so they never learned or had limited exposure to things like versions and breech births. I just thought this was an interesting way to look at it, at first I was mad the practice wouldn't do what I wanted but this made a lot of sense. So if your doctor is not willing or comfortable and you really want to do it it's worth finding one who feels good about it, if YOU want to.
