I was 13 weeks and 5 days when I went to the doctor she used the Doppler to see if she could hear a heart beat but she didn't is it to early?? Round what time should I expect to hear my babies heart beat
I went in for an appt around 13 weeks and she said that was the earliest you'd be able to hear it with the Doppler, due to the uterus still being mostly behind the pelvic bone still. She had to work for it! Squeezed my gut and dug that thing in to get behind the bone to hear anything. She said it was completely normal for it to be difficult to find at that point and it will be easier next month.
Could be too early at that time. 13 wks was too early for me with doppler. Also my anterior placenta will make it harder with Doppler so I'm not relying on it for a heartbeat until LO is bigger. Also it could be harder to find HB if there's a thicker layer of fat over the belly. I wouldn't worry
I heard my baby's heartbeat at 8 weeks and each subsequent appointment. My doctor told me you should hear it by 8 weeks. I would encourage you to call your doctor and get her opinion!
They picked mine up with a Doppler at 9w6d, but had a harder time at 12 weeks. Everything is dependent on your particular body makeup and trying to find that little heartbeat can be hard.
Put me in the 8 week category at the office, and I heard it with my home Doppler at 11 weeks. I'm sure it depends on the type of equipment among other anatomical things (not to mention the baby can be moving around). If they didn't seem concerned at the office I wouldn't worry, but the only way for you to know for sure is by talking to them.
Heard and saw it at my 8 week ultrasound, at 12 weeks heard it on the dipper and this past week at 16 weeks heard it on the dipper again. Did tour doctor tell you why she couldn't hear it?
I've had a similar experience as most of these other ladies. Doctor couldn't find the heart beat at my 9 week or my 13 week appointment, so they gave me an ultrasound each time for peace of mind. They told me it's difficult to find consistently before 15-16 weeks with the Doppler. But as many have said, it depends on body make-up, location of little one, and movement. My shrimp was flipping and flopping all over the place at 13 weeks.
I went in at week 13 and we found a HB... Based on what my OB said, it is all depending if they can find the baby easily and where it is located... I think being early of the pregnancy it is hit or miss
We heard it at 12 weeks via Doppler. The nurse had difficulty finding it, and my OB actually had to play around a bit to find it, too - she said the baby was hiding underneath one of my arteries, but now that I know I have an anterior placenta, that could be why it was tricky as well!
It's going to depend on where the baby/placenta is located, how active the baby is, how patient your practitioner is, and luck to some extent. I heard it at 10 weeks via doppler but my doctor warned it could take a while to find.
We heard ours at 12 weeks with the Doppler and the nurse found it fairly quickly. We heard/saw it earlier than that at each of my U/S appointments. If you're concerned, I would definitely give your OB office a call- remember, everyone is different!
Heard at home with Doppler from 9w2d with some searching. From 11 weeks on as soon as the Doppler touches my skin it's there. Heard at 12 and 16 week appt. You may also have an anterior placenta which makes it harder to hear. Sometimes babies are just tough to find when they're this little and have a lot of room to move in! I'm a big proponent of calling if you're ever concerned.
Edit: because I sound like I'm at work teaching a patient..sorry!!!

Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.
I was 13 weeks at my last appointment and the doc couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler. She wasn't concerned but popped me in for an unplanned u/s since they could accommodate. She said it's hard to find when they're that small.
