I had a "threatened miscarriage" Thanksgiving night at 5 weeks and six days. It was my first pregnancy, so me and my husband were super scared when I started spotting so we went to the ER, they did a vaginal ultrasound and didn't see the baby at all. At first they just thought it was a super early pregnancy, but then they checked my hcg levels. Unfortunately they weren't as high. So the doctors had me going back every two days to monitor my hcg levels. They continued to decrease, I miscarried naturally without having to get a D&C. The doctors told me to wait three months to try again but to keep taking my prenatals. My husband and I are still pretty devistated. It's a month that I miscarried today. I'd be ten weeks today

. I stopped bleeding on December 15th. My husband and I started trying again on December 16th because I was ovulating that morning. I read just about everywhere that you really don't have to wait, also that you're more fertile after a miscarriage so it should be easier to get pregnant right after you stop bleeding. I was wondering if anybody has any success stories about pregnancy after miscarriage and if so how long did it take you to concieve after. Really need some advice. Thank you
Re: How quickly after a miscarriage could you get pregnant again?
But you really don't have to wait that long. My doctor told me to wait an entire YEAR before trying again. I couldn't wait that long, so as soon as I stopped bleeding, my husband and I tried again. And a few weeks later, we were pregnant with our miracle baby! Have faith and stay positive, it'll happen!
TTCAL is probably the better group fir you to be in. Everyone here is already pregnant.
But. I had a D&C January 7, 2013. Bled for two weeks... had a period that started February 5, 2013, and had a bfptwo weeks later and my daughter was born Nov 2013. So for me, it was that firat cycle after a mc. I did make sure the blbleeding was done, and I had a period again before I started trying to get pregnant again. From the time of my d&c to when I had my bfp, was about 6 weeks.

For me I had my loss at the end of April 2012 and then got a postive pregnancy test with my dd September 11th or 12th. So it took about 5 months for me.
After my second miscarriage I was told to wait two cycles which we did (though it was hard) and I conceived immediately and I'm now 10w4d pregnant and I would be extremely nervous about this pregnancy had I ignored the advice of my doctor and gone ahead to try to conceive. I know it's difficult to wait but you need to think about the likelihood of a successful pregnancy next and the way to increase your odds is by trusting your doctor.
Good luck!
I would listen to your dr, and if you don't like what they have to say then you can always get a second opinion. Best of luck to you!
I got pregnant in August. Miscarried in October at 8 weeks. Didn't wait a cycle and got pregnant with this baby right away. I'm 9 weeks now. It was very hard to figure out my due date and how far along I was until I had along dating ultrasound. Until then, I was terrified of something going wrong or not being on track with where it should be. Am I happy? Yes. Am I still scared? Extremely.
While you may think it's unnecessary to wait before trying again, if your dr told you to wait I would trust them. After mine, my dr had me wait 2 cycles. As what @thiscoffeechick said, your uterus probably needs time to rebuild its lining and make itself suitable to sustain a pregnancy. That's what my dr said to me as well.
Also, how do you know you ovulated on December 16th?

I've had 2 losses this year. The first in June was a missed miscarriage & I got pregnant in September. My doctor recommended waiting two cycles and we did. I think I needed that waiting period because I was so emotional after the miscarriage but every persons different.
I miscarried naturally in October and the doctor said we could try right away & now I'm 9 weeks 4 days pregnant
It is completely possible to become pregnant right after a miscarriage. It happened to me and this is the furthest along I've been out of my prior pregnancies & so far this bouncing jellybean has a great heart rate & we're both healthy. Sending T&Ps your way!
We also only tried once straight after before changing our mind to focus on our wedding. Obviously it only takes one time sometimes
With my first loss, I had a D&C mid-January. My doctor said we didn't have to wait. I got a BFP 30 days later.
With my most recent loss, I had a D&C in August. My new doctor asked me to wait 1 cycle. I got a BFP in October.
I have a friend who was due in June that recently miscarried. Her doctor told her to wait two cycles. Keep in mind that every woman is different, and we trust our doctors for a reason

Long story short, my hubby and I decided to once again place the desire for children in the Lord's hands and we conceived 2 cycles after the miscarriage (which was my doctors suggestion to begin trying). Totally unexpected... I wasn't tracking ovulation and had no idea that I was ovulating during the time. I am 10 weeks and my Edd is July 26th. I bless the Lord for this and I pray that you find comfort, strength, and peace during this season and for all.
As for the ttcal board, I am very fond of those women and a question such as this would send them in a very pained frenzy. As many of them are child free not by choice or have no living children they all have it in comment that none of them are currently pregnant. If you choose to ask this question to another board I would try PgAL board as they are the "success" stories of ttcal.

I am sure you will hear stories of people that got pregnant right after a miscarriage but your doctor has told you to wait. So wait.
Again sorry for your loss and I do know it sucks to wait.

after my mc in August doc gave us the green light to try right away. Got a BFP in November, and now 11w and 5d pregnant. I agree with @thiscoffeechick, your body needs time to repair itself. We tried right away and were devastated with each BFN...which was only twice.
I must add we didn't wait a full cycle after getting the mirena removed before TTC and I think that was a major factor in our mc.
Best of luck to you, hun.
