I took clomid for my current pregnancy. I was also seeing an RE for IF problems. He monitored me every other day, with an ultrasound, to check my folicles. I did fall pregnant, and didn't over produce folicles. The bottom line is to take clomid you should be monitored regularly by an RE.
I only did clomid 1x with an RE. Yes it resulted in multiple follicles, however it thinned my lining down to almost nothing. I'm happy I was working with an RE who quickly changed the plan for the following cycle. I'm now 9w pg.

I was being monitored by an IF doc and three follicles ovulated and now I'm pregnant so wasn't sure if anyone else had a similar experience. Finding out in a few weeks how many are in there now
No personal experience. The person I know personally that used monitored Clomid did not respond well. They switched to Femara with a trigger. She had healthy triplet girls this past September.
That said, others' experiences mean absolutely nothing for you whatsoever.

I had 2 follicles but my RE said that it was only a 5% chance that both would take. The chances of all follicles turning into sticky babies are very slim. I have one healthy boy, as I go into my third trimester. I wouldn't be to concern about multiples. Did your doctor tell you the size of each follicle ?
I was on Clomid at the maximum dose they would give (because of the risks mentioned above) for about 6 months. I was finally referred to a different specialist who put me on a mayo cycle. This is a injection of a follicular stimulant to help follicles develop, combined with a "trigger shot" to trigger ovulation. I did the mayo cycle for 4 cycles before developing some large cysts that were problematic. I had to stop all treatment for 2 months because some drugs can cause certain kinds of cysts to grow. When I went in last month, ALL of my cysts were gone! I started a modified mayo cycle (additional injections of follicular stimulant combined with trigger shot) and FINALLY saw that BFP on Wednesday
So the short answer to my long story is no, Clomid didn't do it for me, but it was the beginning of my IF journey.
I used Clomid 50mg with my daughter who is 5 and I am 6 weeks with my 2nd on Clomid 50mg again. We find out on Tuesday how many we are having. Daughter says there is 2 babies in my belly...we will see
TTC #1 for 3 Years *** H- 4/15/09
1 Round Clomid 50mg
TTC #2
I took clomid for my first... unmonitored. It was my 2nd round.
For #2 I took 4 cycles of clomid before going to a RE. They dx'd me with PCOS and put me on metformin. I ended up ovulating on my own without any drugs before I was supposed to start my first femara/ovidrel cycle and now am pregnant "spontaneously" with #2!
I had two cycles of clomid from my OB and this second cycle took! She did monitor as I have PCOS, have been on metformin since May 2014, progesterone for periods, and then added clomid.
After an early US yesterday, I measured small with a heartbeat of 97. My OB has had extensive work and experience with clomid and said I likely ovulated late and am later in my cycle than I thought. I go back next week for another US and assessment. I will keep ya'll posted. Healthy dust to all!
