So right before I conceived for the first time. I was on the right track. I had lost 70 lbs due to fine tuning my diet with fruits and veggies(clean eating) and was jogging 1 hr almost daily. After I found out I was pregnant, I virtually stopped jogging due to uncertainty in what type of physical activity I was able to do, ate like a monster(raging hunger was one of my symptoms and then added a horrible processed diet back into my life with these bouts), though I did keep up with moderate walking, but gained almost 40 lbs in the first trimester-3 months

So I have the tools, and have recently started using them. I'm trying to lose if not maintain my weight. My obgyn say that 15 pounds would've been ideal for my weight gain as I'm am already classified as "clinically" obese- 31% overweight at time of conception. She also advised me that it okay to jog and go back to my lifestyle pre pregnancy bump. This whole weight gain has been devistating to me and just reminds me that my and my baby's health is no joke and since then am back on track. My family of women can gain weight super easily. My dilemma is that I want to have a natural tub birth. In order to achieve this I need to have a midwife and be a low risk pregnancy. I can't be low risk if my blood pressure is high and we all know that extra weight causes high blood pressure. They did the early blood screening to see if I'm at risk for gestational diabeties but I'm all clear and have dodged this bullet. I'm seeing my obgyn on January 12 and am try to get my weight and blood pressure down by then. At this time I want to break it to her that I want to go with a midwife for this birth but need/want her approval. So I post this to see if any other women have an opinion on this matter or words of wisdom. Are any you overweight or not and pregnant and have any knowledge in this matter? I'd greatly appreciate hearing from you!
Thanks-
1st time momma to be
