Why won't LO sleep?! He falls asleep while rocking him and the second you set him down he screams bloody murder. This has been going on for about a month. I thought maybe part of the sleep regression? He STTN most of the time but actually getting him to sleep is torturous.
I've been rocking for 2 hours and my arm is giving out (I still only have one good one to hold him with)
This is happening to us too! She refuses to sleep in her bed. I have to hold her if I plan to get a few hours of sleep each night. Tonight, I am going to lay her in her bed awake and see what happens.
We did CIO with DS1 because of this. Two night of 15 mins of crying.. No crying by the third night. We would then put him in crib and he would talk himself to sleep .
Same with me-when my LO started doing this I was like, enough! I couldn't put her to sleep anymore and was going insane so I just let her do it herself. She's 16 lbs so my arms and back-like you were on fire! I first tried CIO it with naps. Put her down awake and in a good mood. She would talk and then fuss. First time it took 15 mins, then like 4 mins she was out! I couldn't believe it. She goes down for all of her naps like this now no problem. Started doing this at night like a week later. Changed my bedtime routine from bath, story, fall asleep on breast (where I would put her in her crib completely zonked) to breastfeed, bath, book, put in Crib wide awake with a lovey (she doesn't take a pacifier). It tAkes her anywhere from 15-45 mins to put herself asleep. And she's sleeping 11 hours a night now! Sometimes she will wake up around 3 but is able to put herself back to sleep in no time. I was so against CIO and am feeling bad about her fussing for so long at night sometimes so I started the sleep lady shuffle but it takes her longer to fall asleep when I'm in the room with the same amount of fussing. But people swear by it working so I'm giving it a shot. I think for mine, she was pretty much right on schedule with her wonder year leap and after that with this new sleep plan she's so much better! I feel like a brand new mon too:) Good luck! I'm sure she's just ready to do it herself. Worth a shot!
