Re: Christmas food poll

  • I've heard of the tradition, but we're not a big jello family. There are, however, numerous jello foods at the ILs.

  • This poll bright to you by Christmas dinner at the in laws. They always have red jello and usually serve it plain and also mixed with cool whip. I just find it strange. .. not at all something my family would make.

  • Waste of calories and stomach space to me...
  • According to MIL jello makes you fat & that makes you equivalent to a felon. 8-}

  • We never make jello. My dad's family makes an orange "salad" that has orange jello and cool whip in it. They are from the midwest.

  • My family doesn't do this. Jello with cool whip was the traditional dessert at our school's holiday meal.

    I'm pretty sure after this pregnancy is over, I will never eat jello again.
  • Nope. Can't even remember the last time I had Jello.
  • Cabbage?!
    Cranberry?!
    Jello should not accompany these.

  • No jello. Last time I had jello was probably 10 years ago and it was in shot form

  • My dad LOVES jello "salad." I object to the word "salad* being used to describe sugar, but that only makes him more determined to call it salad.

    :-&

    The only thing worse than plain jello is jello with fruit in it.
    Haha. This makes me think of those horrible moments when you realize there was canned fruit cocktail in the jello... A squishy peeled grape... A far too firm chunk of peach? Wtf was that?

    No jello. Never.
  • I know lots of people who serve jello and jello things with their big family meals like Christmas dinner but we don't do it. Tamales and posole. That's all we do besides setting out a meat and cheese tray beforehand.
