I've been searching around the internet for a support/information site for first time dads and found this site. Though it seems completely geared to moms & moms to be? Is there a place for me here?
Sorry but it kind of weirds me out that a guy would be here reading this stuff. I guess I can't articulate it how I mean it to come off but it would make me uncomfortable for a random guy to read about what's going on in my uterus.

Am I crazy or does it weird anyone else out?
I get it, but they can read this whether we know about it or not.

I agree, but I'd rather a new dad make his presence known and constructively participate in relevant threads (hopefully skip right over TMI Tuesdays. Haha) than creepily and silently peep at our posts like I'm sure some men do.....
Y'all are right. Who knows how many guys are here without us knowing. It still weirds me out but I'll get over it!
Thanks for the welcome and the comments. I'll check out the dads' board.
Not sure what a "catfish" is. Not here to waste my or anyone else's time. Just trying to get all the help I can get to help & understand what's going on every step of the pregnancy and prepare.
I have been reading a bit on here already, won't call it lurking. Not interested in anyone's personal info. Just trying to get a grip on things.
Maybe I'm an odd vocal one, but I even tell my DH the gross TMI stuff. Hey he helped make this baby, he can deal with the grossness and he BETTER still think I'm the most gorgeous woman on the planet
Welcome new dad!! Maybe the crazy pregnancy symptoms we all discuss will even make you a little more sympathetic to all the challenging & body changing things your wife is going through.

Welcome @newfather81! I agree with others that there may be other boards on TB that are helpful and more specifically geared toward you, but if you're staying, I think it's great! I would be thrilled if my husband was willing to read/hear everything discussed here in an effort to prepare himself. Best of luck to you!

Once again thanks.
Welcome. And lurking isn't a bad thing. It just means you've taken the time to read some posts and absorbed the atmosphere of the board. Tell us about your SO and whatnot.
Thanks ladies. I'll be respectful. Just trying to understand this process and everything that goes along with it. This is our first so I'm (we're) in uncharted territory. Often my wife will ask me a question or make a comment on how she feels, almost looking for confirmation if that is normal or not. All I can do is shrug my shoulders and say I have no idea, I've never been pregnant. So I'm in for the all the details. TMI or not. She shares everything with me so I'm used to it.
I don't know if this is true anymore, but my DH used to lurk on here all the time. He has the app and checks it for weekly updates. I didn't know he read the boards until a lot of people started having miscarriages at once (in the beginning), I got really upset, and he said, "I know. I read that too," in a sympathetic tone. Does anyone else's husband do this? Maybe I should've put this under FFFC?

I need a crash course in your acronyms. TMI is the only one I recognize! I'm lost otherwise.
In one of the very first threads--there's a sticky post. It has a link to the A15 blog. There's a list of acronyms in there. Also--Google helps. I'll just google the acronym and THE BUMP. It'll usually get me to the answer. Good luck.

under the "welcome to April 15" thread, there is a link to our blog, which has a page listing all the most common acronyms. I had to reference it a lot when I first joined. Congrats and welcome! Ps- @SuperFudge00 confession, this piqued my curiosity and I just spent an hour lurking on the dads board ha
Me-24~~ DH-25~~Married 6/15/2013~~Pregnant with our first due April 2, 2015~ Septate/ Bicornuate/Arcuate /some kind of not-normal uterus- won't know for sure which one till after babe is born~~Hoping for a full term baby!
OP, It's not on this site, but on reddit there are two "dad" forums I know of - predaddit and daddit. I know my husband reads those, no idea if he posts. They are fairly active and much nicer than you'd expect out of a reddit forum. Good luck!
My ex loved daddit! If I'm not mistaken, there's a mommit too.

I lurked at a post and had to comment. I thought that would continue so I left, lol.
I think it's really great that you are involved. It doesn't bother me that you are here. I have my husband read stuff on here all the time. Plus he gets all the TMI from me and usually just says "great story." Congrats and welcome!
I tell my husband stories (mostly the dumbass posts) from here a lot and after seeing this soon to be new dad here I'm jealous! Maybe I will download the app on DH's phone and see if he takes the hint.
