New mom

I feel my stomach get hard and my belly get sucked in could the cord be wrapped around my baby ? 1st time mom due next month 36 weeks pregnant

Re: New mom

  • Your belly sucked in? What does this mean?

Your tummy getting hard sounds like Braxton hicks, They're normal.

If you are ever genuinely concerned about any pregnancy symptom please contact your physician as nobody here is qualified to give you medical advice

  • I wasn't asking for medical advice I was just seeing if anyone else had this problem that's what the app. Is for. But thanks anyways I will be sure to talk to my doctor on Monday
  • What does your belly sucking in mean?

  • My belly button is out but when I get contractions it's like she pulls it in or like the cord is wrapped around her so it's making my belly button suck in .
  • Your belly button is literally popping in and out? That sounds like craziness.

Like PP said, your belly Button is not connected in any way to the cord. There is no visible way to tell if the cord is wrapped around your baby. If you are genuinely concerned waiting til Monday isn't a good idea.

Asking if the cord could be wrapping around the baby does kind of sound like you're asking for medical advice.

But you're right, this app is for asking people if they have similar problems.

I never had this problem, but here's a creepy Internet hug for you, stranger! (((Hug)))

  • Babies can switch positions which might make your belly button stick out more one day than the next. But that has nothing to do with the cord. Like pp's said, call the dr if you are concerned.

  • My dr mentioned to me that in most cases the cord is wrapped around baby however it's usually just loosely and during birth they unwrap it as baby is born and I shouldn't worry. Movement is a good sign though so as long as u still feel movement i wouldn't worry. I'm sure you will ask doc jst to be sure but hope this helps. My belly has been looking funky lately bc she only hangs out on the right side so sometimes the area around my belly button caves in when she is way over there. Perhaps that's the issue your having too.
  • Ds was born with the cord wrapped around his neck it's common he's fine so don't worry about that.
