Rec your car seat/stroller

I've procrastinated long enough, I need to get a car seat for this baby or she's staying at the hospital. I've had my mind set on two different ones and keep changing my mind. There's just so many options and I keep reading good and bad reviews.

I want something lightweight that also doesn't take up my entire back seat (I have two other seats that have to fit, I drive a Tahoe). I also want something that either comes with or attaches to a a true running stroller (not one that just "looks" like a jogger) that offers a swivel front wheel as well as being able to be locked.

The two that I was considering are the britax b-safe and the graco click connect 35.

Any suggestions you all have are much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • I have both the Chicco Key Fit 30 and the Graco Snugride 30. I bought them both seriously discounted from Target. In fact, I just bought the Graco a week ago from Target. They had a bunch of car seats and other baby supplies marked down. I think I paid $30 for it. With my DD, I used the Snugride. I was satisfied with it. It wasn't too bulky, and it seemed compatible with a lot of attachments, i.e., the snap and go. I am not really sure what possessed me to buy the Chicco, other than the good price and pretty good reviews that I could remember when I researched with my first.

  • I am a FTM so I can't suggest how this stroller or car seat is yet but we've bought the Graco Click Connect 35. Personally, after all my research, that's the one I felt would work best for us. GL :-)
  • Love my Bob for a jogging stroller!
  • We bought the Graco Classic Connect Snugride because it is compatible with our BOB stroller. So far they have both been very easy to put together and we're happy with our purchases.  (FTM)

  • FTM so no personal experience yet. We have the Baby Trend (https://www.amazon.com/Baby-Trend-Expedition-Travel-Stroller/dp/B00HY0ATS2/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1419642167&sr=8-16&keywords=baby+trend+jogging+stroller+travel+system). It was bought for us as a gift. The brand seems to get good reviews overall.

  • I went with the Graco 30 click connect but plan to use with my BOB stroller.  So, the attachment will be needed (but haven't bought it just yet because it is cold here in Montana).  Anyway, the Graco 35 doesn't fit the BOB with the attachment FYI.

Don't know which jogger you are using though...

  • I went with the city mini and the chicco key fit, but I wish I would have gotten the Britax B Agile travel system.

I could hold you for a million years to make you feel my love.
  • We installed our Greco 35 car seat yesterday, my husband was all stressed because he thought no one else would be able to fit in the backseat but we each sat on either side with no trouble (I'm huge, having my baby Monday) and our back seat is not big I think it and 2 other seats of similar or smaller size would fit in a Tahoe. I love the stroller, so far but baby comes in 2 days. I test drove (tried to jog as much as my pregnant self can) with it with the car seat clicked in and it was great. It is also not as heavy as I thought it might be and folded up really easily. I spent weeks researching what to get and I think we'll be really happy with the Greco 35 car seat & jogger. Hope this helps :)
  • I have the britax b safe with a bob revolution and love them!! DD is comfy in the britax and everything connects so smoothly. Defiantly gets my vote! It's easy to install and light enough to carry around.
  • Thank everyone for the input!! Hopefully I will be deciding tonight so I can order with my Amazon completion discount.

  • Just being honest here, but most travel systems are not good strollers.  If you want a good stroller, get one.  Try not to base your decision on car seat compatibility.  Infant car seats are used 9 months on average, and only the first 3-4 months of that is when you'll want to click it to a stroller.  After that, baby can ride in the stroller without the car seat.  We went through 4 different strollers before landing on the Bugaboo Camelon (yes, it's very expensive but we got an old model on Craigslist for $150).  I wore my DD most of the time and we had a car seat stroller frame for that short span of time where we wanted to click the car seat on something.  This time, we just have the Bugaboo and got an attachment for it to attach the car seat to.  I figure I'll wear this baby even more than I wore DD, but with having a toddler and a baby, it's best to have options.

Speaking of options... if you want another child in the nearish future, definitely consider getting a convertible stroller than can be made into a double.

Also, most people have multiple strollers.  You'll probably end up with a dedicated jogging stroller and a different one that stays in your car for other trips, like going to the mall or the zoo.

  • It's been almost 8 years since my last baby but what age can you actually jog with them? (If that's your intention). I don't think it was newborn though. 6 months? Then like pp said your baby won't need to be in the infant seat so it might not matter so much whether the car seat is compatible. I'm a 3rd time mom and the one thing I learned about strollers is it's really hard to find one that works for all stages. This time I'm getting the frame the car seat clips into for the first 6 months or so. Then I'll decide what I really want after that.
  • @eleolin8‌ Just curious, have you got the attachment yet for your BOB?? I was told the Click Connects are not compatible, only the classic connect.

Yes x 1,000,000. The BOB is great. Get whatever car seat you settle on then buy the adapter for that seat. Easy.

(We have the graco SnugRide with that adapter. Worked great with DD.)

@MLC1990‌ here is a link that shows the adapter you need. They have a model that is compatible with the click connect system. It's different than the one that I used with our classic connect.

  • I ended up ordering the Graco click connect 35. It has pretty good reviews, from them it seems fairly lightweight. It also is able to be connected to the BOB with the attachment and didn't cost a ton which is great since this is the last baby. Thanks for the help everyone.

  • Keep in mind I'm old and had issues with mommy's thumb and dh has a bad back but I bought the Combi zeus 360, which is a car seat that turns. It helped me tremendously with my mommy's thumb and almost every parent of an older child has commented that they wished a rotating car seat was available when they had kids. You basically can load your child facing you and then turn the seat to rear or forward facing. Dh really thought it was frivolous since it was over $300 but now realizes the beauty of this seat. We never used a bucket or basket style seat, we started with a convertible seat and got the Combi seat about 7 or 8 months later when I reasoned with dh that it was better than my getting cortisone injections for my wristandthumb.
