Planning to announce the day after Christmas

My next appt. is 12/26/14 and I will be 12 1/2 weeks at that point. So far everything has been really great and I've seen baby on an u/s and the tech said everything looked great.

So a few days ago my mom and sister took a few pictures of me and DH holding a tiny santa hat over my belly. We printed that picture on a Christmas card and plan to hand it out to our relatives when we get together Friday and Saturday for our Christmas celebration.

Last time it was only a week after we announced that we found out we were miscarrying. Now granted that was at 9 weeks and I was already spotting (hoping it was the "normal" spotting they talk about)

Now were 12 1/2 weeks no spotting and a strong healthy heartbeat at the u/s

But I am still nervous about announcing.

The night we took the pictures, I had a miscarriage dream

I want my family and friends to know because I'm so tired of holding it in and keeping it a secret, but it just brings back memories of last time. This week, I've kept saying "just because it happened last time, doesn't mean it will happen again."

Also I believe I've been able to feel my growing ute rise above my pubic bone so it gives me confidence that everything is still on track. Plus I still have tons of symptoms.

Two more days till we hear our baby's heartbeat and I can't wait to hear that beautiful sound

Congrats on getting so far! Pgal is hard and I kept getting loss nightmares too. They finally passed after 1 st trimester! Good luck Friday! Merry Christmas!

I totally know what you mean. Last time we announced at Christmas and my spotting had begun the day before. I keep reminding myself (and my husband does too) that this is a different pregnancy and hope or sharing good news won't bring bad things. Also your dreams are a product of your thinking so maybe tonight spend some time before you drift off visualizing yourself at various stages of a healthy pregnancy and with that baby in your arms. I've been pretty good this pregnancy with visualizing holding the baby once he/she is born, but when certain triggers pop up, my thinking goes right back to negative.

I'll give it a shot tonight and hopefully I'll dream of sweet baby cuddles

Good luck on Friday! We go Monday for our first appt at 9 weeks. PgAL brain is rough. I knew it would be, but the roller coaster ride is crazy. I have to constantly repeat the mantras, especially the one you have been using this week. Every now and then I worry this will end like it did last time. After the appt, I will be repeating the miscarriage percentage after a heartbeat is detected. I love your idea about the Christmas Card and I hope the advice from @sfazar gives you pleasant dreams tonight.

How did your announcement go? Your always in my thoughts and prayers! Stay positive and strong. Today your pregnant and I can imagine like all of us you are so overwhelmingly in love with your baby! Sending you Hugs!!

Good strong heartbeat!!! We got to hear it on the Doppler and my dr said he expects everything from here on out to be normal and routine. I love those two words lol
