I'm not sure where else to put this. The Health board seems to be all about marathon training, lol.
Anyway, here's my dilemma. I just found out that a cousin will not be attending the family Christmas party tonight because he has shingles. His wife will also be staying home. However, their adult son who has been staying with them while on break, still intends to be there. I have an 11mo baby and I am uncomfortable with him possibly carrying shingles.
My question is, do you think I'm reasonably concerned? The son is showing no signs of shingles. Hypochondriac that I am, I'm about ready to tell my mother either the son is told to stay home, or I won't be at her party tonight. Honestly, though, if it was just me, I won't care. It's the baby I'm worried about.
Our DCP recently had shingles so I had researched it quite a bit. The son would not be contagious until blisters form and even then there has to be direct contact with the blisters.
