We will be taking DD to a drive thru Christmas light display and opening some presents with Nana. We will probably watch A Charlie Brown Christmas too. Love this time of year!

Going to my mom's. Get to see my nephews and let them open their presents, which is my favorite part. I will be stuffing my face as well, since I try to eat really healthy most of the time I let myself go a little crazy during the holidays.

With my drunk SMIL and just make everybody happy FIL, white trash half sister in law and her 3 kids who consistently have lice, ringworm or just general snot faces.

I'm indifferent but DH has tried to help so much and been screwed over so many times that he has difficulty being around his sister. He doesn't like DS around the kids either which is sad. Dinner is at 7 and I was wrangled into making it even though it's not at my house. DH has to work at 3 AM so he's already said he'll be using that to leave by 9.

I can't wait for tomorrow morning just the three of us.

It's just DH and I (kids are with their dad), so we will probably watch a Christmas flick, drink mocktails (me, anyways), and sit by the fire.

Speaking of the night before Christmas, I wrote this poem for this week's poetry slam competition...got 2nd place!

Title: Middle-Class Night Before Christmas

Twas' the week before Christmas,

and all through my house,

Not a morsel is found. Not even an ounce.

We got $30 in groceries, instead of one hundred.

And lived on Hamburger Helper, and cereal...I shudder.

We used up our paychecks, in about 24 hours.

And prayed the bill collectors would wait til January to devour us.

With stockings hung by the chimney with care,

In hopes that a surprise Christmas bonus soon would appear.

But since we both work for the great corporate grinch,

He drives past us in his Benz and yells out Zero! Nada! Zinch!

But then on the rooftop, there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from my sofa to see what was the matter.

It wasn't Santa this time, but Mr. Money Pit,

Saying "you need a new roof", what perfect timing is it!

As the roof caved in, we still had grins and cheer to toss,

Because the presents were still purchased, regardless of unexpected cost.

This just goes to show that even the Middle-Class can win,

Now bring me the Tuna Helper, and cereal in a bowl of gin!

I have to work (from home though) until 1 PM. Then I am going to pack up the dogs and go over to my parent's. We will all eat a delicious traditional German dinner, snack on Christmas cookies, and watch Christmas movies.

@ajzmommy- Thank you! I do poetry slams every week with my dad at a lounge downtown. He has been doing it for 9 yrs, so I am still a little "green", but I enjoy it.

I'm Hispanic so we celebrate tonight. Get together play games until midnight when we all open presents. I have a huge family so it's loud and crazy and I love it. I'm going to be a little sad next year, my first Christmas away from my family but I love that my husband and I and our little baby will make new traditions!

I work in retail and I finally broke down this year and begged my HR to let me have it off. My first Christmas Eve evening off in 7 years. I am so excited!

We are going to a friend's house for a party. My parents are also friends with them so they will be there too. It'll basically be dinner and board/card games and drinking for everyone but me. Although I'll have some sips if there is something good. We will put DD to bed there and wake her up when we are ready to go.

@lgsdesigner Loving that... Was I the only kid who grew up like this and still thought Christmas was the best time ever?!

Tonight I'll be at a 60+ person gift exchange, and with the booze, it's likely to get a bit competitive! Drinking lots of Hot Buttered... water? And probably eating my weight in ginger snaps. Planning on karate chopping any extended family who goes for the belly grab....

Well I finally had a god night's sleep...slept 12 hours and boy did I need it! Right now I'm just finishing wrapping my presents and then we're of to my mom's for Christmas Eve dinner. I'm Polish so Christmas Eve is bigger than Christmas day. My little girl (our Labradoole) of course will come with us which she loves!

Tomorrow we do it the Italian way at my IL's for Christmas day

Picking up DD, frantically running to TJ's for a few last-minute things, picking up H, heading to a Christmas Eve family service to hear some tunes, eating dinner, putting DD to bed, and then playing Santa!

SS here! We have nothing special planned for tonight except packing for our trip tomorrow. My MIL is flying in today to spend winter break with us (she's a teacher). My H works for a Jewish youth group, so tomorrow we are all piling in the van to drive for 6 hours to go to their biggest retreat of the year. Sure it's for work, and my H will be busy most of the time, but my MIL is coming to babysit, it's at a hotel, and they provide all the food (including a fabulous banquet one night). So it's ALMOST a free vacation.

I love taking road trips on xmas. There's no traffic anywhere. You just have to bring all your food!

I'm working tomorrow 7-3 (my least favorite part of being a nurse), so H and I just finished exchanging gifts, then we have church at 530, back to his parents house for dinner and more gift exchanges with his whole family... Since tomorrow after work, we will be spending the rest of the day with my family.

My parents just arrived from out of town. We'll go to church at 4 then have an amazing seafood dinner. Maybe we will let the boys open 1 small gift, then we'll read "Twas the Night Before Christmas" and once the kiddos are in bed, transform our living room into present central!

We're bringing Cards Against Humanity to our gift exchange.... Hopefully it doesn't fall into the wrong hands. Or maybe that's a good thing?

On that note - did anyone get the holiday mail from Cards Against Humanity this year?! So good.

DD got to open her Christmas Eve gift this morning (Christmas PJs, socks, Charlie Brown Christmas movie, and Rice Krispie treat). Now to finish watching Charlie Brown Christmas with DD. Maybe pick up another gift or two this afternoon. Then it's off to my Grandmother's for perogie-making for tonight's Christmas Eve dinner! Mmmmmmm! Probably games and cards afterward. Can't wait.

Tonight we're headed to my ILs for Christmas dinner, games, presents, and a grab bag exchange. I'm dreading the grab bag. DH has an aunt and uncle who apparently think it's funny to steal the gifts meant for the kids. Annoys me every single year. If they steal anything from my kids this year i'm gonna get pissed and I won't be able to keep my mouth shut.

Not how we expected at all. DH has the flu, my son is just getting over it, and I was up all last night puking. Normally Christmas Eve we go to mass and then I make a great meal, watch a Christmas movie with DS, let him open one gift and then he goes to bed. After he's in bed, DH and I watch a movie and wrap all of the gifts.

This year, there's no church, we are ordering pizza, and all presents will go in bags so I'm not wrapping all by myself.

A little bummed because we were supposed to leave tomorrow to drive to MI to see my parents but that trip is now up in the air. Even if we can leave on Friday or Saturday I don't know if we will have the energy to do it.

Low key night for me and MH. We are exchanging gifts at some point, but otherwise I think we're just going to hang out and get some Chinese food. We'll be celebrating with our families tomorrow through Saturday.

Shopping today...online all the way next year whew!

Going to do a gingerbread house with DS while "Santa" finishes some wrapping down stairs. Then we'll all cuddle in for a Christmas movie before DS has a bath and hopefully goes right to sleep!!

Then maybe Santa gets a little mistletoe lovin' for all his hard work!

The boys are currently riding the train repeatedly so I'm chillin with our stuff at the gate. So far so good!

So far my super redneck cousin made us listen to his "band" cover that horrible angry Nickleback song that's all "I LIKE YOUR PANTS AROUND YOUR FEET" It sounded awful, was angry and aggressive, and not at all surprising coming from him lol. Aaah the holidays.

Now we are just chillin just the three of us, little man is in bed. I am trying to eat a cheese ball but this baby is kicking the crap out of my inner butt hole.
