Movement

I search the board and didn't see anything on this. If I over looked it, I'm very sorry!

Baby was really active on Sunday and Monday. Yesterday, I barely felt him move at all and so far this morning I haven't felt anything. Have you ladies had the same experience? I go back to the Dr. on Monday, but just wanted to see if others have had a similar experience.

Re: Movement

  • Yes. Very common.

  • The first time I searched, before posting, I only came up with 2 hits. This time I just got many more. I'll do multiple searches next time before posting a question.

My LO will be very active one day and not the next. His movements are not predictable yet.

  • He definitely has more active days than others. I think its pretty normal.

Have you noticed a time of day baby is most active? For me its at night (I also think it is because I'm not as active.) I've had to start doing kick counts already per ob's orders, so I take time out each night around the same time, I lay on my left side, and count movements. I started last week, I'm 25 weeks.

  • If ever unsure and want to check on baby. Cold water or juice can get him/her moving.

In my experience, if ive been super busy I kinda just dont notice them, if i take a second and relax, I usually feel something.
Also, my LO has been hanging out higher than usual. I felt him more often when we was lower in my tummy. Some days hes in there thrashing around and sometimes hes really quiet. Its normal, I think.
  • I searched myself and didn't find anything, for what its worth... I do think the search function is goofy sometimes.

Having said that, great question! I am 22 weeks and feel her moving around some days quite a bit (she had a full on dance party or temper tantrum after my anatomy scan).  Other days I don't feel anything,  or I feel something but I am not sure it is her.

My dr shrugged off kick counts before 30+ weeks,  said that really just causes stress that is not needed or medically beneficial.    Perhaps he is more mellow then some, but I feel like its reasonable provided everything else seems to be going ok.

I am pretty sure I felt her jump when my alarm went off this morning. That was a strange feeling!  Anyone else feel their LO startle due to a loud noise?

  • My LO will have days with little movement too. Like PP have said, sometimes it bothers me even when I know it's normal. I do the cold drinks to get her to move. Also loud noises, like loud music. Totally normal though don't worry.

  • Mine has been pretty laid back the past couple days. He's moved more today than he has all week. Usually he starts moving if I'm on my back or I'm bent over. Guessing he doesn't like getting squished. Lol

  • My girl moves like a little demon all the time but she's been taking it easier the past few days. I think our week at work has worn her out and i'm pretty sure i read somewhere that my movement can rock her to sleep.

I feel my LO multiple times throughout the day but when I'm working (hustling & bustling), he doesn't move much. But every night when I lie down he goes to town.

I have found that he is most active in certain positions. When I'm on my back he moves freely and will give me a show of jiggling jello. If I'm on my side, he kicks that side. If I'm upright, he either head butts my cervix, booty bumps my belly button or kicks my right upper quadrant.

Give it some time and you'll figure out what your LO likes to do.
