Hola, chicas! I hope this post finds everyone well! This is a space for second and third trimester questions and complaints (not that any of us would complain about being pregnant -sarcasm-). I hope everyone enjoys whatever holiday she celebrates around this time! Hugs to those that need one!

  • Ok when does the 2nd tri start?  I'm so confused.  My bump app says on day 1 of week 14, but my bump ticker says I'm in the 2nd tri now that I'm 12 weeks.  Another app says it starts week 13

    ALL WELCOME!

  • I'll be 29 weeks tomorrow and baby is head up- does anyone know when I should "worry" that he isn't going to flip? It didn't occur to me when I was at the doctor to ask any other questions because I feel like there is still so much time until March-
really there isnt. I will ask when I go back next week but was curious if anyone has any experience with a late flipper (is this late?).
  • @bostonchelle I think you still have a few weeks for baby to turn. If he/she isn't head down by say 34/35 weeks I'd start to be concerned.

  • @Hawkward‌ Hugs. I hear ya... My husband works away from home - he's a Geologist, so is at various mine sites, and his main office is in Vancouver (basically all the way across the country). He's taking some time off when Oliver arrives, but only a few weeks - then it's back to constant travel. :(
    It sucks.

  • Hey ladies! I'm 14 weeks today and glad I can join in officially on your discussion :) Don't have much to add at this point as I still feel like I'm in between trimesters... still some nausea and definite fatigue all. the. time.

@Hawkward I'm sorry for the timing of YH's trip, that would be very challenging!

@bostonchelle My baby was still head up at 34 weeks and OB was not worried at all.  I have to go back on Friday at 36 weeks and we'll see if he changes his tune now.  At 29 weeks, you still have plenty of time for baby to flip.

  • Bostonchelle I second spinning babies. My little lady has been head down since 20 weeks, which actually has me wondering if she'd going to flip around on me as time goes on; but I've heard great things about spinning babies.
  • Thanks ladies! I'll look into the spinning exercises @peggles24 I hope you have some luck with the flip!
  • @Bostonchelle‌ I'm 32 weeks and she is transverse. The docs aren't too concerned just yet. She constantly flips/moves position. Last week she was just head down. Her position seems to change with the week. Although it would be nice if she picks head down and stays that way. All this movement hurts!
  • So I am going to begin by saying I have noticed this twice in the past three days, and wonders if anybody else was experiencing something similar.

I start out feeling great and after about 45-50 min of being on my feet and walking around (finishing my xmas shopping!) I am experiencing cramping and painful BH. Tonight I literally wanted to get on my hands and knees and crawl back to the car. As soon as I sit down for 5-10 min I am good again. Does this sound concerning? @samuelismomma is this anything similar to what you are experiencing?

I mentioned it to my mw yesterday after the first time but she didn't seem concerned. She said as long as it goes away it's nothing to be concerned about, but I wonder if I should tell her it happened again or just take her advice and not worry if it goes away like she said?

  • @taberbtb‌ I would mention it. I will have the pain for 2-5 hrs then it leaves:( I have back labor. They have traced them and hey are labor but haven't effected cervix. If they get longer and harder to stop , call the midwife better safe than sorry always...

  • @taberbtb I had similar experiences earlier in my pregnancy...I think mine were more RLP, and the more I stood and walked around, the pain would increase. Went away once I sat down for a few minutes. I agree to check with our mw if they continue, get worse or take longer to stop

This definitely happens to me.  After sitting for a short period of time, I feel a thousand times better.  My OB said not to worry about it so long as it goes away - to sit down, drink some water, put my feet up and take it easy.

Technically the definition of labor is contractions that cause change in the cervix.

So I think you mean they are NOT labor since the cervix is the same :)

That was exactly what I was told also, I guess I was just panicking since it's starting to happen more often and I am *almost* but not quite 35w. It's too early for LO to arrive!! Glad to know it's an unpleasant but normal symptom. Thanks for making me feel better about this ladies! >:D<

Also - once I mentioned it the first time, my doc asks me about it every time I see him now - so you may wind up telling her anyway :)  And it definitely started happening more as I hit 34 weeks.

  • @chicagojackie no the ones that I had and was traced did effect my cervix I'm 1 cm and 70% effaced that is the reason they took cerclage out at 34 , so I wouldn't rip. My BH haven't changed my cervix. I just meant if she kept having them and they were uncomfortable and didn't go away to call dr. Don't think I was clear.
