Our little peanut was born with right hip displasia and was put in a full body harness on day 2. We were instructed not to take the harness off at all and therefore I postponed her newborn pics. My photographer and I decided to use the money I paid for a family session at a later time and then do a little mini shoot to work around the harness and still capture her at such a young age. We did the pictures at 8weeks. I'm so happy we did this and I absolutely love the pictures! That same week we also found out her hip looks completely normal and we can start to wean her off the harness. Such a relief.

Hip dysplasia mama here times two. I understand how much that brace stinks (literally and figuratively) in those first few weeks when you can't take it off at all. Glad you got the all clear after just a couple months!

They are! DD1 had a mild case and spent a month in her harness before getting weaned out. DD2 had a severe case (left was completely dislocated at birth and right side also had dysplasia) she spent 6 months in the pavlik harness then another two years in the Rino harness and recently cleared by the ortho at 3 years old. Amazingly our littlest didn't have it.
