My brother in law is hosting xmas this year at his house. His gf just posted in fb that she's been in the er monday and tuesday with her little girl who had a 104.1 fever. Doctor put her on antibiotics and steroids. She plans to be at the christmas get together. Would you keep lo at home or go since its been 24 hours since the antibiotic??

Antibiotics means it's an infection. You can't cure a virus with antibiotics. Infections are rarely/ ever (?) airborne.
That being said, as long as you use good hand washing your baby should be fine.
Still not worth it.
*Yes I'm aware there are other infections that cause high fevers. My reply is based off my job (urgent care) and the typical Peds patients we see.

If you have a child that's been in the ER with 104 temp, why the F are you bringing her anywhere? She should be home until she's better. Same with going to work sick as an adult. While you may very well be able to "tough it out," you are putting everyone else at risk of getting sick. How inconsiderate!
I'm generally pretty laid back though and I myself don't avoid situations because of the fear of getting sick, but when LO is involved it's a different story.
