I just mailed out our Christmas cards today. I ordered them on Black Friday and got them pretty quick. Even saw Santa in the first week of December (I included a Santa photo with each card)... but my procrastinating ass only printed the Santa photos, addressed, and stamped the cards today.
Other than that I'm ready. My dad on Christmas Eve, my ILs on Christmas Day, my mom on my birthday (12/28), and everyone at my house on DS's birthday (1/1).
I think I'm ready. If not, it's too late now. I also just mailed our cards today and will mail more tomorow. I ran out of stamps I just don't wanna travel.
I'm actually ready before Christmas eve this year! Usually I don't even finish my shopping til then. I even have all the gifts wrapped.
We're staying home and my mom is coming over to spend the day with us. We did a family get together last Saturday and most of my mom's family was there and able to meet LO.
We still have some gift cards to buy and I've only baked one batch of cookies (and we've eaten most of them). I still have gifts to wrap as well.
I vote stay home and hide. But we will be with my grandparents Christmas Eve and on Saturday. My Mom's Christmas Eve night and ILs Christmas Day.
We don't have anything special planned. But I'm excited to do our Christmas traditions with LO. We made cookies together last night. She napped in the k'tan while I got everything mixed up and it got me thinking about how much more fun it will be when she's able to actually help make the cookies.
I'm semi ready, gifts are wrapped but have bows to do ( I love me a fancy bow) cleaning for ILs who are due the 24th for lunch but will likely call in with some BS no show excuse. Then last bits of fresh food shopping. I will likely bake more cookies since I brilliantly started the washer with 6 doz of 4 kinds ontop. Post spin cycle they're now in pieces having been flung to the floor. Special for LO? Nothing other than outfit changes so he wears all the stuff people bought. DS1 is 4 so this one is more likely centered on him. News to first timers, year 1-2 is kind of lame but after that there's nothing like the joy in their eyes and excitement for festivities.
I'm ready for it to be over with. We did Christmas with my family Sunday. H and I already exchanged, he absolutely spoiled me.
Tonight we pack between Eliza's nightly cluster feedings, and we're leaving at her bedtime. 500 miles to NC. We get the stepkidos tomorrow until Sunday. Saturday we're driving 2 hours to see my mamaw and my dad's side of the family for the day.
It should be fun, I just worry about little things like if the pnp will fit in our room at MILs and trying to bf all week. With my family, I just whip the boob out, IDK how MIL and step-FIL are with that. I hate being stuck in a room feeding her.
I feel unusually prepared this year. All my shopping is done and gifts wrapped except for a couple white elephant gifts (liquor and lottery tickets). All Xmas cards sent last week. My MIL is visiting my BIL and his family for Xmas so spending Xmas eve and Xmas with my family. I feel really lucky we don't have to split our time between 2 families and only have to travel to my mom's 45 minutes away. I am so excited for Xmas this year since this is the first year my DS1 (2.5 yrs old) is into it and will be so excited to open presents.
Well between our families we have four Christmases. 1 down, 3 to go! My mom and step dad got here yesterday and they will be here through christmas. Had christmas with my dad and step mom last week. We will have Christmas with my MIL and SIL the day after Christmas, and with my FIL next week. It's borderline insane.
We have had all our presents ready for awhile, except I realized I forgot the dogs gotta pick up some treats today while we are shopping for Christmas dinner supplies (prime rib!).
When I read the title for this thread I had no idea what was in 2 days...curiosity was the only thing that made me click on it! I guess it's the sleep deprivation? Either that or it's because I have to work part of the day on Christmas However, I guess we're ready! It'll be more exciting next year when LO can participate a little more!
Hope you all have a wonderful holiday with your new lo's and safe travels!
I would stay home and hide but everyone is coming to my house! ( maybe I could lock the door and pretend no one is home? When did Christmas get so damn stressful?! I'm excited to see DD to open her presents but not for the rest of the stuff.
I nearly said forget it , we are staying home this year, you can all swing by. And then I realized I don't want to deal with that either!
I just went to retrieve our gifts (they have to be kept off property due to snooping child) I wrapped and have been baking all day. One batch of cookies left for tomorrow and I should be done!
Christmas Eve with mil and Christmas Day with my family. We occasionally make it to my aunt and uncles Christmas Eve but not so sure this year.
