Turned Out Foot

My son is three months old today and his right foot turns out all the time. The left foot is straight. It is not that he cannot turn his foot in, it just naturally goes there. The doctor did not seem too concerned and said we would just keep an eye on it, but it bothers me all the time. I am not sure what is happening. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Re: Turned Out Foot

  • My second DD had very curved tibula fibulas. I was worried when they didn't straighten out as quickly as my first DD's did. She is now almost a year and they are perfectly normal. She started walking by 10 months.
  • DS1 had femoral torsion where his foot would turn out to the side. We had him evaluated by a pediatric orthopedist at around 12 months. He assured me that he would be fine. By around 2 years old his foot had turned in to where it should be. Now at 3 years old you would never know. Orthopedic dr. Said this is very common with first born kiddos too. Something about how they're positioned in utero.
