Christmas breakfast recipes

What do you make for Christmas breakfast? I usually make a big eggs, pancakes and bacon breakfast. I need some new ideas. I just realized most of my posts on this board revolve around food. I'm such a fat fatty.

Re: Christmas breakfast recipes

  • I always make eggs benedict, bacon and hash browns. This year I may make a French Toast bake with cream cheese. It's so good and fattening. We're fat fatties, too :)

  • @ChrisB‌, I just looked up some recipes for that on Pintrest. Looks so good!!!
  • We're making an egg, sausage, hash brown and cheese (emphasis on the cheese) casserole in the crock pot. A friend who's coming mentioned chocolate crescents, so I'll be hovering by that tray.

  • DH's family tradition was cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning. I've continued on with it in our own little family. We do a huge ham lunch/dinner with his whole extended family in the early afternoon. ..so we don't do a huge breakfast.

  • We eat a pretty big pancake, eggs and bacon breakfast on Saturdays. So for Christmas I think I will just make the pancakes fancier with fresh fruit and some special shape.

  • We do what we call an "omelette scramble" ... All the goodness of an omelette without having to make them pretty. We scramble them up with cheese, onions, peppers, and ham. Also biscuits, bacon, cinnamon rolls, and mimosas. Fat fatties unite!

  • My plan is to bake a breakfast casserole tomorrow (conglomeration of crescent rolls, hash browns, sausage, bacon, eggs, cheese, and pretty much whatever else you want to cram into it.)  It's something my mom used to make for Christmas when I was growing up.  Plus it's easy, you can make it ahead of time, so less stress on Christmas morning=win for me!

Isn't that just scrambled eggs covered, smothered, chunked, and peppered?  And now I want Waffle House hash browns.

I'm going to attempt either a breakfast casserole or overnight french toast since I have tomorrow off and can go ahead and do the day before prep.
  • The past couple of years we have just done cinnamon rolls.  We may change it to one of those yummy breakfast casseroles in the future. But for now since its only DH and I eating cinnamon rolls it is :)

  • We've done crepes the last four years. Fresh berries, Nutella, powdered sugar, and whip cream. We also do mimosas and fauxmosas - sparkling apple cider and orange juice. Now I can't wait!
  • Definitely going to try the French toast bake!!! That sounds DELICIOUS! Plus, I'm cooking for a small group and it sounds simple. Hope it turns out!
