Questions for moms with boys

My son (21 months) gets "morning wood" a few times a week.  I don't care about that part.  My issue is that his penis pops up out of his diaper.  I double diaper so we I take the first one off the head of the penis is sticking out of the top of the 2nd diaper.  I am already using a size larger than needed on his diapers.  I honestly don't know what to do to keep the little guy from popping out of the diaper.  Any advice?

  • Yeah, it sounds like your son is packin'! I'm sure daddy is proud!

  • Maybe try a larger diaper size. I know you said you were but maybe another size up or a different brand.
  • I am now suspecting he is pulling it out.  Any yes, dad is proud.  Ha.  I've noticed he likes putting his hands down there many times during the day - especially when he gets tired.  I imagine he is pulling it out at some point in the night.  Maybe I will try a larger diaper.  I tried a couple other diapers, but they don't hold as much pee in the night as the Pampers Baby Dry.  However, I notice the Pampers Baby Dry tabs are getting to the point that they don't hold up when they get really wet.  It's worth a shot to try the larger size.

  • If he can get his hands down there without undoing the diaper I feel like it's probably already pretty big. Why don't you use a sleeper or pjs that won't allow him to get in there?
  • We are in Florida so we just now started using footies again.  That definitely does the trick.

You should be able to find sleepers that are footless.  I've even seem them with short sleeves and no feet.

My DS is 2 and doesn't do sleepers anymore and has never gotten his hand in his diaper that I've noticed.  I'd double check to make sure the diaper is on securely.
  • my son sleeps in a sleep sack, footed pj and sleep sack for cooler nights and just diaper and sleep sack during warmer months. He is doing fine. You may check the brand we use www.babydeedee.com
