Worried momma

So we went and had our anatomy scan yesterday and they said everything looked great. Today my nurse called and said that both kidneys were measuring larger than they should be. She gave me the technical name for it but I can't remember how she spelled it. Plevactsis or something like that. She said that it normally clears itself up and not to worry but they want me to come back in next month for another ultrasound. I know I should take some peace in the fact that most times it clears up on its own but I can't help but worry about my little one. Has anyone else ever had this happen to their little one?

I'm sorry I have no experience with this either but FX that every clears it self up!

@mp03jp‌ thank you so much! That did help some. I told DH who was at work and he is helping me stay somewhat calm. One of the guys he works with said their daughter had it but it cleared itself up and she is fine now. I keep hoping and praying it clears itself up. Trying not to worry a whole lot before the next appointment. Definitely easier said than done! We haven't told our parents which DH doesn't want to but I don't want to feel like I'm keeping a secret from them.

@sbride68 I was told after my son's 20 week scan that it's better technology picking this kind of stuff up and not to worry too much about it yet. It may not mean anything yet.

UPDATE: we went Wednesday and had another us. The nurse called today and said that the kidneys are resolving themselves and everything looks great. They are also monitoring a spot on the left ventricle of the heart but said it is unchanged so that is good as well. We go back next month for another follow up us just to check and make sure everything is still good. Such great news! I am a lot more relieved now! While I never planned on this many ultrasounds it is kind of nice to get to see our baby girl more often before she makes her entrance

Glad to hear! I was going to say before I saw your update that my son had this as well. His kidneys cleared up before birth and he was fine.

Fx everything works itself out. I have no advice other than the worrying never stops. Different situations just continue to push the old ones out but let new ones in all the time. Major and minor things will have you up all night

Thank you ladies! I just keep on praying

I am a little concerned that the dr didn't tell me about the spot on the left ventricle. I am going to talk to my husband about possibly either seeking another opinion or switching hospitals all together. We are just at a community hospital right now. Not a small small one but they get several awards and things and are well rated but is kind of want to see about switching to the university hospital which would be where our LO would go if anything god forbid was wrong when she is born. I am a little freaked out at the idea of being stuck at one hospital that is almost 2 hrs away from her if something would be wrong. So I'm not sure if I should switch to the university just in case so I would be up there if she had to and she is already there around all the help she would ever need.
