Babies: 9 - 12 Months

I am pretty sure my neighbors are currently planning a coo.

Baby has a "witching hour" between 11PM-1AM.  The neighbors upstairs are currently stomping the floor.  Can't tell if they are stomping the floor at baby or just walking loud but I've never heard it like this before.  Remind me to stop by their apartment with some ear plugs and a "I'm sorry my baby screams at the top of his lungs for two hours" cake.  Cake will make up for it, right?  Or should I get them a flat screen TV?

Re: I am pretty sure my neighbors are currently planning a coo.

  • Are these the same neighbors that have noisy kids every night right at 7pm (or something like that)?  If so, I wouldn't worry too much, but a cake and an apology would be a really nice touch.  Just do the best you can.

  • a nice treat is very thoughtful but only if they are nice neighbors.

WOw, now I want some cake!

  • "coup" as in "coup d'etat"

And, eh... pound on their floor with a broomstick or give them a "New Parent Apology Card"

"It is to engage in severe understatement to suggest that things have been a bit amplified on our side of the fence lately.  The 3 A.M. crying has become extraordinary.  In fact, it probably comes as little surprise to you to learn that we've been contacted by the FBI about putting our baby's eardurm-dusting cry on loudspeakers for use in standoffs with militia compounds.  We are so very sorry.  Your complimentary earplugs will arrive shortly."

    Hang in there! Smile

  • I think it's coup, but I could be wrong. Anyway, they'll have to get over it. What do they expect you to do, put a muzzle or muffler on the baby?

  • It was kind of a bad joke.  Babies coo.  Get it?  No.  OK.  I'll spell it right from now on.

Good memory CD+AL.  Different side of the apartment though :)  This is a family WITHOUT children.  I have never actually formally introduced myself and in the Dutch culture it's pretty rude to just stop by someone's house so I think I'll just leave them some coffee on their doorstep with a note that says, "It will all be over soon."
