Alright all, so LO had her four month check up today. (I don't even know where the time went!) Her pediatrician mentioned adding barley or oats to her formula to help with how much formula she's taking in and to help her with stools.
My research has come up with nothing, so far. What do other Moms think of this? My own mother seemed appalled that he wanted to start her on a semi-solid so early.
Re: FTM needs advice.
This seems to be a big debate and you'll be getting lots of pros and cons I'm sure...
I'm all for it. My mom was surprised when I HADN'T started DD on cereal when she was 3.5 months old after babysitting one day. My sister also recommended we start. The pedi told us as long as it's after 3 months, she'll be fine. And as DDs mom, I feel I know better than any guidelines. That's why it's called "recommendations" because no 2 babies are the same.
Trust your own gut. If you want to try to see if it helps, then go for it. If you just don't feel ready, then don't do it. If you start and decide you don't think it's right for LO then you can stop. I've come to learn that parenting is trial and error until you find what's right for you.
We started DD on cereal nearly 4 weeks ago and she LOVES it.
