Possible Tripletts and Questions on HCG

OK. So. This is pregnancy #10.. we have two living children.. history of stillbirth, ectopic.. etc.

Last Monday HCG was 754. Friday before that was 218. Yesterday (Monday), 9,294.

I had an U/S last Wednesday at 5w1d that showed three sacs... one less developed than the other two.

I go Thursday for another HCG, and then I have to scheduale another U/S for next week.

Does this seem promising for Twins/tripplets? or is it probable that we will only have one?

I'm incredibly high risk as it is.. so i'm nervous. I need to know the statistics I'm dealing with. :/

Momma to:

Aiden (6/30//2007), Ect 10/08, MC 6/09, Chem 10/09, Brice (8/11/11), Ect 1/12, Ect 6/12, Sophia (6/26/2013 passed during labor from placental abruption 38w3d), Chem 3/2013

EXPECTING 8/11/15! Three SACS!

Can't really tell you for sure. My RE told me there was a 15% chance one twin would absorb during my early U/S days. The further along you get the better odds you have. Best of luck to you!

My first u/s at 4w2 days showed two sacs, one less developed than the other. My OB told me there was probably a 50% chance we were pregnant with twins. The next two u/s at 6w1d and 8w4d showed two babies with two heartbeats! So even though it's super hard the only thing you can really do is wait for your next appt. Obviously though your betas and having two well formed sacs sound very promising. Good luck!!

I would check the doubling time of your betas with betabase. My doubling time between my first and second betas was 17hrs. My first beta was 14, 48hrs later it was 99.

My first u/s at 7wks showed 2 HBs and I additional sac. The 3rd sac never developed. I had my twins at 32 wks.

My first beta was drawn 9dp5dt they did a re draw to make sure it doubled 2 days later. The RE followed me 4 additional weeks after that once a week with U/S, progesterone, and beta blood draws. I was discharged from the RE at 8 weeks and my first OB appt was at 9 weeks.

Well I got my answer. I bled on Thursday, went to the ER, and both of the smaller sacs were gone. My numbers went from 9,294 to just over 16,000 in three days.. and we saw one sac.. one fetal pole.. with one flickering heart beat. Glad this baby seems to want to stay, but now i'm nervous about numbers.. and sad the other sac's never developed.
