GTKY: Favorite Childhood Movies

edited December 2014 in TTC After a Loss
So since I am stuck "resting" on my medical leave (something I am not great at doing) I have reacquainted myself with Netflix. They have some throw back movies on there as always, including one of my childhood favorites that I rewatched tonight, "Annie" (the 1982 version). What were your favorite movies to watch as a child?

  • As a kid I loved Curly Sue, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, and the Trouble with Angels. Oh, and Milo and Otis.

  • Everyone already mentioned the ones I would have!

I have never heard of Dark Crystal though :-/

As a side note, I LOVED Annie. I used to dress up like her and dance/sing around the house.  :|
I am not sure how to say this without getting a "solicitation" warning so I guess I just say that I am not longer active on THIS site.

  • Ditto to a lot mentioned already. I loved to watch the Care bear movies as a kid. Oh and Karate Kid. I also think of movies from being an early teen like Twister and Jurassic Park.

  • I love the movie Overboard as a kid. It's not really a kids movie. And looking back, it a pretty sexist and stupid movie. But it was my favorite as a kid.

I also loves The Goonies :)

  • Damn, so many I had forgotten about! I am making a list for my Netflix and Prime queues :D

  • Dark Crystal- yes!!! Did anyone watch the Jim Henson Creature Factory? One of their challenges was to create a skeskis. So cool.

I also loved Adventures in Babysitting, Goonies, Terminator (for some reason my babysitter let me watch this when I was 5 and I became obsessed), Sandlot, Karate Kid, The Secret of Nimh, Mannequin (so bad), the Great Outdoors, Pee Wees Big Adventure, Clue, Gremlins, Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, Beetlejuice, Who Framed Roger Rabbit....ok, that's a lot.

Adventures in Babysitting is a classic! I thought it had one of the greatest opening songs ever - so terribly 80's haha.

Did anyone ever see Witches? It had Anjelica Houston in it and was on the other day. I was so happy I caught it.

  • Just thought about "The Worst Witch." Aww. I didn't realize that was Fairuza Balk until looking it up- she was in The Craft.

    Lol! Did it really?!

It really did. The skeskis muppets were freaky to a 5-year-old.

My brother texted me the other day with just a picture of his tv screen while he was watching The Witches. I loved that book and movie!
