Re: 12/1 - 12/14 Weekly Check-In

  • -Age: 2 weeks, 6 days.

-Sleeping: well he sleeps awesome during the day most of the time and shitty at night. I thought we had our days and nights figured out but last night was horrible. We went and watched the hobbit yesterday and he slept thru the whole 2 1/2 hours of it. Come home and he sleeps til 8. So be slept basically from 4-8. He ate and fell back asleep until 9ish are again and I went and laid down with him and he was up every 30 minutes from then til midnight and then he was just awake from midnight til 5:30. And up again at 6:15. Once I get a nap this morning. I'm gunna try not to let him have long naps today.

    -Eating: EBF on demand.

-Milestones: holds his head up, looks around, makes eye contact, makes super cute expressions.

-Questions: I don't really have any unless anyone can be a miracle worker and make my baby sleep, and sleep in his crib or pack and play or swing or bouncy seat.. Anywhere but me.

    -Working On: sleep schedule.

-AW: collage of his faces :)

Sleep: all. Over. The. Place. There are days he is up feeding every hour or two and doesn't sleep and then last night he slept 4 hours in a row, so definitely no pattern yet. Has been more fussy this week though :( wants to sleep on my chest and as soon as I move him to rock n play he screams so that's been fun

Eating: like above, eating like a champ but on demand evey hour or two some days and then less often every 3 hours. Exhausting. Worried about cow milk allergy so have started dairy free diet Saturday and will discuss further with pedi tmrw. Anyone have experience with this? Symptoms that make me consider this are: crusty, draining eyes, sneezing, facial acne, small belly rash, "wet" breathing and some spitting up. Oh, and just being fussy. Hoping to see an improvement soon

Milestones: like previously noted. More alert, fun facial expressions, strong head and neck muscles

Working on: mama going dairy free and sleep/feeding schedule
  • Age: 1 week 5 days

Sleep: don't want to jinx it, but it's going pretty well. He takes two longish 2-3 hour naps during the day, then I try to keep him up till. 10 ish . I swaddle, feed last feeding in bed, and put white noise machine on. He has been sleeping from 10-1, 2-5, and finally back to bed from 6-8 ish. Only been a few days , so def isn't a pattern yet, but it feels so good!

Eating: feeding on demand, using a nipple shield. During the day he eats ever hour to hour and a half. At night, just wakes a few times and feeds fmpretty long on both sides.

Milestones: lots of smiles , I think they have to be gas related, but I pretend they are for me! Can't wait till it's really true.

Working on: being alone with baby. Daddy went back to work today!
  • @LivInCA‌ LO has been eating every 45 min-2 hours here the past two days. He's been sleeping shitty at night, not at all in the morning, and decent from around noon-8. I'm gunna try a bedtime routine tonight and see if I can get a longer stretch tonight. He seems to eat about 12-18 min on each side so practically 40 minutes a feeding. I haven't attempted to go anywhere alone with him. Yesterday we went to my dads for Christmas and he got tired out so I knew he'd take a long nap. We went and watched the hobbit and slept thru the whole thing. Tomorrow I have to go to the grocery store and walgreens but I asked my mom to go just in case I need to feed. I haven't attempted baby wearing.. My thing I have just looks so complicated and I've been to tired to watch YouTube videos. Soo I wait til he's been asleep for about 30 min set him in his swing and that usually gives me 5-10 min to get small things done like dishes, folding, going to the bathroom, or making me something to eat.

    *paragraph fail.

@oklahomamom09‌ So you get 5-10 minutes at a time to do what you need to do. Yep, sounds about right on track with what I'm going through with my LO. Glad to know I'm not alone! I'm looking forward to being able to leave the house again! :-)

Yes ma'am if I'm lucky! Lol sometimes if I really gotta pee I just let him scream for a few minutes :( but gotta do what you gotta do lol
