Good pregnancy books for spouse?

Hey all!

My H is being really sweet and keeps saying "Wow, we are going to have a baby...I have so much to learn..."  I asked him if he would want/read a book if I got him one and he said yes.

I could do some research on my own but thought I'd ask this community to see if you have any recommendations of what you found helpful or not helpful.

Thank you!

  • MH is reading "The Expectant Father" by Armin A. Brott and Jennifer Ash. He says he likes it and is learning a lot.

  • Good question, Mos! I probably need some serious book recommendations...

He's reading this and this. But nothing serious - which I probably should buy him "real books."

The best part about these books is apparently people have left nasty reviews on Amazon because it's not "serious enough" and gives "crappy advice." The book cover has a baby shooting lasers out of its' eyes FFS... sooo...uhhh... what did you THINK you were purchasing? LOL

  • The Birth Partner. I actually enjoyed reading some of its sections as well.

  • On a related note, I just searched amazon for books on pregnancy, and it recommended these helpful related searches:  'Breeding' and 'MILF'

HAHAHA  Too true - I could tell from the covers of some of them that they are meant to help make it light, which I'm sure is helpful for some.  My H tends to be a researcher.  When he gets into something he learns ev-er-y-thing about it.  I downloaded @elizabetheleven and @aliska's rec's on my kindle.  The Birth Partner seems like it will come in handy closer to delivery time.

@Swivelchair I mean, I got the breeding thing down, but I might need a book on how to become a MILF.

  • Cavemans guide to pregnancy. Funny and very informative!
  • I liked Secrets of the Baby Whisperer. Among other things, It talks about different kinds of babies (temperment-wise) and how to interpret their cry so you can figure out what they want/need. I really think this helped me nurture DS into a very sweet and confident little girl. This really helped my sanity in the first couple of months too. I was pretty confident about what I was doing even as a first timer because the book had some good guidelines to follow.
  • I just bought the Guy's Guide. I'm glad I saw this thread during my insomnia tonight because now the book will arrive before Christmas for the DH. Thanks for the suggestion, @etc35173‌ !
