Newborn Stash - Worth it?

I cd'd both of my boys (now 6 and 8 years) but didn't start till the youngest was about 6 months - so I never cd'd a newborn. Let me start out by saying that I am a bumgenius junky. So... is a newborn stash worth it? I've been lurking on diaperswappers.com (had great success there before) and think I'd like to have about 36 nb bg AIOS and then switch to BG pockets as the babe grows. I don't like all of the bulk of the bg os on a newborn. Thoughts? Is it worth it? Is there another diaper you love more?

    I think a NB stash is absolutely worth it. When I think about the amount of blowouts I dealt with with my first daughter when we were using a mix of disposable and cloth I cringe. I had only had one poop leak this time around, and it was less than the size of a dime and was a total fluke.

    I'm still using my BG newborns at 4 weeks in, but I'm also using a small bamboo doubler with it. It's not enough absorbency as is anymore.

    My favorite retail AIOs are probably the imagine bamboo AIOs. I actually prefer the Aplix, but they didn't fit under her cord stump while the snaps did (the snaps have a snap down for the cord stump).

    Definitely worth it. But as others said, you many not want to go all in for an entire stash of AIO's. I like BG a lot and did not like the NB option. I preferred fitteds and covers mostly, with a few blueberry simplex AIO's. The other AIO's I had started leaking after a few weeks, but not the fitteds or simplex. 

    Maybe get half of the BG AIO's and vary up the rest? You can always sell/swap why you don't like.

    I did a newborn trial and it was really helpful to see all the different types. The BG newborn AIO worked for us, but L was on the smaller side.

    what PPs said, nb stash is worth it, but BG nb AIOs do not last until OS fits. We mainly use prefolds and covers.

    I only did prefolds and covers during ds2's nb days. I think it was totally worth it even though I only bought enough to wash daily until he reached OS size. Now I am using flats and BB inserts in covers after trying pockets and deciding that pockets are not my favorite.
