NBR need inspiration for a gift

My mom died a week ago. I bought a calendar that had pictures of my LO, and intended to give it to my parents. I ended up giving it to my dad to cheer him up last weekend. Now I need to find him a Christmas gift. I am at a loss. I want something that is heartfelt (so no gift cards), useful, and somewhat inexpensive (still paying hospital bills from my stroke). My dad loves fishing, cooking, gardening, and woodworking. Any inspiration would be appreciated. TIA!

    My husband likes to fish as well and loves receiving books about fishing in different areas that he could visit. Maybe he'll feel like going out and doing what he loves, exploring new areas. So sorry for your loss! ((Hugs))

    What about something for the garden or flowerbeds to remind him of your mom? I'm thinking like a decorative stone of some sort.

    Thank you all. I ended up getting him a cookbook and a stepping stone kit for his garden. My mom's favorite flower is a pink rose, so I couldn't buy him a seed packet. I'll buy him a rose bush in the spring. I really appreciate your T&P.
