I had a Graco snug ride with my DS, no complaints about his seat. So I purchased another Graco for this baby as well. But I definitely took it off the shelf and carried it around on my arm before purchasing it. I just like how the Graco handle is over other brands I guess.
I got the Graco Click connect 35. It was a combo with the stroller I wanted for $200 for the pair. The seat seems large to me, but is very easy to install and use.
We have a Graco Snugride from DS that we'll be using. I like it - it's easy to install, fairly light and comfortable to carry. I've also heard a lot of good things about the Chicco Key Fit.
We go together like a wink and a smile. June 27, 2009
I didt like my Graco Snugride after having my first DS most of the reasons are because he was 5 lbs 14 ounces and really didn't fit well in the seat, we also had issues with the buckle (I cut my hand open trying to unbuckle him, this was fixed easily by Graco). I decided not to use it this time and purchased a Chicco Keyfit. Seems much better equipped to handle small babies and no buckle issues. We will see...
We have the Baby Trend Flex loc seats... So Far we like the look and feel of them. We'll know soon how they fit into our car!

We also used the Chicco Keyfit30 for DD and liked it. I was in BBB yesterday, though, and if I was buying again, I might pick the Peg Peregos - they look so sleek and easy to clean They were $290 near us, though.
I'm a safety 1st fan. We used the onboard air 35 for our infant seat and then got one of their convertible seats, the elite 70 or something like that. We have their air 65 for my H's car too. No issues.
We went with the Chicco Key Fit and we were also looking at the Britax B-safe. We ultimately went with the Chicco because it was a little easier for me to tighten all the straps. Just remember your car seat is only as safe as you use it, make sure it is installed and baby is strapped secure each time the seat is used.
We have the peg perego for the infant car seat that I bought used and the maxi cosi pria for our convertible seat that is new. The maxi cosi goes all the way to 85 lbs and is highly rated for safety and fits sleekly into my CRV.
Not to thread jack, just curious- is anyone familiar with the Clek Foonf? I'm looking for a second convertible seat and hearing awesome thing about the Clek- it seems expensive and I'm wondering if all you're paying for is the modern design.
I researched on the website car seats for the littles, it's run by certified car seat technicians and has recommendations for infant bucket seats, convertible, and forward facing only in several different price ranges. I found it really helpful.

Another great thing about the maxi cosi pria is that it fits very nicely rear-facing on airplanes. We've been on several different flights with it and it fits perfectly. No issues at all. So that's good to know if you plan on flying With a convertible seat.
We also went safety first an got the Chicco Keyfit 30! It's the top rated safety car seat! I know BRU had a coupon for 20% off plus a $50 gift card wheb you bought there travel system.

This was what I was going to say as well. Safety and easier to adjust straps.
We used Chicco Keyfit 30s with extra bases. If you bring in the amazon listing for the seat they will price match at bbb. We now are in the Britax Pavilion Convertible which we love.

Has anyone used the Diono Rainier? We were going with a Britax for the convertible seat, but switched on an impulse buy. We have a different infant seat, so this seat would be for after that.
Bought Chicco this time, seems like it'll be perfect! We had a Graco snug ride and it worked well but after hearing such great things about the KeyFit and the high safety ratings we got ours at Target-20% off ended up $150 as opposed to $184!

We got the Chicco Keyfit 30 and got a really great deal on the Cortina travel system online at babies r us.
I wanted Chicco because of the safety rating and having known people that used them they are so easy to deal with. And the stroller was easy to put together and is light weight. Seems like it will be a breeze to use...
Re: Car seat Recommendations?
Lots of other people like Chicco or graco it seems.
