We are up bright and early and in the car to the train station with all four grandparents headed into NYC. I'm so excited for T to see everything, but it will be an interesting day with all the personalities!
Dh comes home today!!! I am so falling asleep at 8 pm. Waiting for my laundry to dry so I have jeans to wear today. Then heading to ups. Then just hanging around until its time to pick up dh from the train!!
I hope it's a nice service, @Foxy. FX C settles down.
Costco this morning, then hanging at the IL's for a bit.
Seeing my dad, SM, sister and her SO tonight for dinner and strolling around looking at all the Christmas lights. A is going to love it, and it will still be around 60 degrees so we won't be too cold. Looking forward to it!
Thank you ladies! I really appreciate all the support.
@kfran84 he is still married to my step mom. They took him to the hospital that she works at (she's a RR nurse) so she can keep an eye on him. I have a younger sister, but she just had surgery on her head (nothing serious) Tuesday so there isn't much she can do right now. (@mothereffingkatie don't hate me ) My step mom thinks he is suffering from lots of things including dementia (which is probably true).
@tgrimes1980 At this point, they will keep him in the hospital for monitoring, run more tests to see if there's a reason he's still falling and try to heal his wound quicker.
@mskatiep He's okay, apparently he landed on his knees this time not his head like last time. I haven't gotten the full story on the nursing home but something to do with medicare I think.
@cagoldi She was a hysterical mess. I fed her breakfast & kept offering her the sippy cup until she went down for her 1st nap. I think she took 2 sips total. When she woke up I tried the sippy again and she had a meltdown.
@tgrimes1980 Ugh sorry. I know the meltdowns are hard and it feels awful not to give them what they want (hence, why I'm still nursing).
Have you tried offering different cups? We use three types (take n toss, playtex, and munchkin) and some days he will throw them in my face for getting the "wrong" one. LO prefers milk in the munchkin and water in the take n toss. So it may be about finding the right combo too.
I apologize for the unsolicited $.02! Good luck with Operation Sippy.
@Mommyxtwo1113 Your dad was at the nursing home for quite some time, IIRC? Medicare will only cover 100 days for a SNF stay before they go custodial, at which time he needs to do private pay if he can't qualify for Medicaid. The SW at the NH should explain this all to you in detail. If he goes 60 days without being in a facility, his Medicare days will kick in again, but given his condition it doesn't sound like he is a candidate for in home care and he sounds noncompliant.
If they discharged him for reasons other than maxing out his Medicare days, he has appeal rights and the facility is required to issue him a Notice of Medicare Non Coverage letter explaining how to appeal, which he must sign. Let me know if you need more info on this.
@cagoldi I love you! He was discharged because of the 100 max being met. However he also has long term care insurance but this particular nursing home wouldn't take it. So once he is released from the hospital we are back at square one looking for a new place. Also he is the definition of non compliant.
His wound is a level 4 and there aren't many places we can find that the state will allow to care for a level four. Most need him to be at a 2 or below I think.
@Mommyxtwo1113 He has decubitus ulcers? Level 4 is bad, he'd be in terrible shape at home. Good luck finding a facility that will take his LTC, but thank God he has it.

Yeah he had three ulcers but is now down to one. Its bad. But he won't get out of bed....
I got a new niece yesterday! It's my H's brother's daughter. First for him and his gf.
MIL is judging her so hard, and I'm just staying as neutral as possible. Part of me agrees with her criticisms, but part of me is like, um, so I wonder what you bad-mouth me about behind my back?
So I'm giving my future SIL all the benefits of the doubt and not joining in when she's bashing. I just keep asking what I can do to help. SIL is going to parent this baby how she wants and it's all going to turn out fine.
I think MIL is more of a planner like me and SIL is more like... go-with-the-flow, trial and error, learn on the job type. It's driving MIL crazy.
Me and peach are better from the stomach bug. DH not so much. I'm hosting Christmas tomorrow and decided to still host it but order pizza because I knew I wouldn't feel like cooking. I woke up this morning and the chef in me threw A freakin fit for thinking pizza could ever be served for Christmas dinner. So my mom and I continued painting my dining room and ran to the grocery, ate lunch and put another coat of paint on. Now I'm hanging pictures on the dry walls and waiting for the wet wall to dry to do a second coat. I'm nuts. But I'm not thinking about anything except painting and cooking and that was the plan so score!
So sorry @Mommyxtwo1113 I hope he heals quickly and you can find him a facility he's happy at.
Re: Serendipity Saturday
@TJHine did T sleep better for you last night?
Evie woke up early so DH is trying to get her down for a morning nap. Makes me glad there was no wine in the house last night!
