How old were you when you got your first speeding ticket?

I received my first speeding ticket yesterday at 37 years old. H was shocked as he feels that is unrealistic based on how he feels about my driving 8-| anywho thought it might a fun post to see where everyone else stands. I'd love to hear any crazy tales of talking your way out of one too as I was too caught off guard to make a convincing case for myself.

I was 17, and I got a wreck less driving in the highway. Had to go to a driving class or they were going to take my license. I cried my eyes out. I wasn't even in a hurry, no where important to go. I was just being dumb.

now I drive like an old lady.

agpjt413 I was going 40,apparently it was a school zone which I was oblivious to.It is a very main drive I got pulled over on where people tend to go fast but I guess one little section is a scool zone so you should slow down there, oops.

The officer told me to go to court and plead my clean record so I should get our of paying the ticket and have to pay the court fee which people are telling me is generally $25.

First time I was pulled over I was 18...I've never gotten a ticket though

I was a week to turning 18. I was so upset because my parents were going to rent me and my friends a hotel room for a night and let us go to Ybor to go dancing, but instead they had to pay my ticket.

I got another one when I was 21 or 22. I was talking with H while we were driving on the highway and my car didn't have cruise control. Got caught going 140 in a 110 (kmph). I didn't get out of the speeding ticket, but the officer noticed my safety was expired. It was the first car I had registered in the province so I thought it was okay! I started crying really hard, and apparently MH talked to the officer in French to explain, but I still to this day don't remember that.

Damn, congrats to making it to 37 before your first ticket!

I was 19 and I was driving to my mom's with my ex husband. I was trying to catch up to the guy ahead of me so I could get past him before it merged into one lane. I think I was going 100ish. He only gave me a ticket for 9 over so I was very thankful.

The only ticket I've ever gotten was a seatbelt ticket Cuz I was sleeping in the backseat with out a seatbelt on...I was 19...

I was 36. It was about 8 hours into a twelve hour drive and I was in the middle of no-where Nevada. Besides being exhausted, I had a truck that had followed/tailgated me for several miles that I managed to lose when I pulled into a small-town to use the bathroom (it pulled into the same parking lot). If you ever saw the movie Breakdown with Kurt Russell then you will get what I was feeling at the moment.

I ended up not using the bathroom and left the town pretty quick. It was probably an hour later when the pulled me over for doing about 90 (my little cayenne red bug was hard to miss). He only wrote me for doing 75 in a 60. I did not try to fight it because I was speeding. I deserved the ticket.

My first ticket was at 16. I also got one at 17, 18, and 20. I think I was 18 when I cried my way out of one.
