Cookie decorating party

I'm terrible at figuring out how much food to make. Like, one time when we were still dating, I made too much pasta for DH and that's all he ate for a week. If I make this recipe https://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/classic-sugar-cookies/90993177-b5fe-4cc7-a6b6-8f58913d36e8 should I make the full batch fora cookie decorating party tomorrow? It's mostly forthe kids (2nd gr, 1st gr, 4yo, and my not yet 2yowho will probably eat more than decorate). There will be 5 adults, but we will probably be mostly helping the kids. I just don't want to make too much and have them feel like they are working in a cookie factory all night. Which is what happened when I was a kid.

Re: Cookie decorating party

  • Are all the adults making cookies or just you? I try to give each kid 10 or so cookies to do.

They might make some, but we will most likely endup child wrangling and refereeing cookie cutters and decorations.
  • I made too few cookies for our decorating party and was frustrated. If you make too many, you can always send some home with the kids unfrosted.

Oooh. I didn't even think of that. You're so wise.
  • You can always freeze any extras and eat them later. My family does a cookie decorating party each year and the more cookies you have the better! I made two dozen just for DD and I to decorate the other day.
