Week/fruit: 11 weeks. Lime, Brussels sprout, or strawberry, depending on the app.
How are you feeling? I think my nausea is finally starting to subside (knock on wood!), but I haven't completely gotten my appetite back. I've also been experiencing butt/hip pain that I'm pretty sure is pelvic girdle pain.
Doctor's appointments/updates: No updates and my next appointment is a month from today.
Rants/raves: We bought a book of baby names last week and DH is excited to start reading through it. I'm really excited to start picking out potential names. We're hoping to pick out several first-middle name pairs for both sexes. FX that we agree on some names!
GTKY: What holiday tradition from your childhood are you most looking forward to continuing with your kid(s)? Almost every year, me and my mom would bake and build gingerbread houses. Instead of just making a house, we would build a whole scene: billowy snow drifts, trees (moulded from green rice crispy treats), and even a pond! We would also make gingerbread cookie people and animal and place them in the scene. It was sometimes tedious work putting it all together, but the end results were beautiful!
How are you feeling? Still dealing with nausea that gets way worse in the evenings. I'm really hoping it subsides soon and I start to feel like myself again.
Doctor's appointments/updates: appt on Monday 12/22! It will just be a Doppler appointment. Ultrasound scheduled for 12/23. Can't wait to see how different baby looks!
Rants/raves: my husband is the bomb. Making all my meals (including making and packing my lunches) and doing everything around the house. He's the best!
GTKY: What holiday tradition from your childhood are you most looking forward to continuing with your kid(s)? Probably a Christmas movie on Christmas Eve. I don't think my family had any unique Christmas traditions, so we will have to make our own!
How are you feeling? I feel good, I'm not quite as tires as I've been, which is great, hopefully I can summon the energy to finish shopping, wrap all the gifts, and put on an early Christmas meal for 12 this weekend!
Doctor's appointments/updates: I had my NT scan and first real appt yesterday. Later if I can figure out how to post a picture I'll do an AW. Baby O looks good, HB 150, the ultrasound scan looked really good though still need to wait for blood work to come back.
Rants/raves: I can't even explain how excited I am for time off work next week! We are also telling everyone over the next week or so. So excited about that too!
GTKY: What holiday tradition from your childhood are you most looking forward to continuing with your kid(s)?
Everything! The holiday season is so important in my family!
How are you feeling? Starting to feel better. Almost no nausea all week. Still tired but it could be more because DD hasn't been sleeping well. Still limited appetite and down 6 lbs but I know the weight will start coming soon enough.
Doctor's appointments/updates: 1st tri screen on Monday. Anxious to see the baby. My bff found out about her MC at that appt so I'm a little nervous, especially with all the losses that seem to keep happening.
Rants/raves: It was a rough week with DD but I'm so glad DH is home for two weeks.
GTKY: What holiday tradition from your childhood are you most looking forward to continuing with your kid(s)? I have the Department 56 snow village and my mom does too. As a kid, it was one of my (and my brothers') favorite things about Christmas. I only set up a couple of pieces this year but can't wait to really share that with my kids.
How are you feeling? Nausea has pretty much stopped, I am always hungry. I have terrible dreams, but other than that I feel pretty good.
Doctor's appointments/updates: I was pregnant at the beginning of this year, and lost it at about 7 weeks (not my first loss). I spent a ton of time and money at the Dr. when I first started bleeding and there was nothing they could do for me. Anyway! That is my explanation for why I won't be seeing the doctor until more like 12 weeks. Plus I got a new job and my insurance starts around then.
Rants/raves: I'm pretty excited to be having a July baby. My birthday is July 18, so I get my first sweet baby for my birthday this year.
GTKY: What holiday tradition from your childhood are you most looking forward to continuing with your kid(s): I'm just ready to have a little one in my family again, kids make holidays so much more fun.
How are you feeling: I feel really good. Finally not extremely exhausted. Got back to the gym yesterday for the first time in 9 weeks. Still just very bloated and super crazy dreams.
Doctor appointments/updates: my DH wasn't at my first appt cuz the ob said they wouldn't be checking for heartbeat or doing an US. Needless to say they did so I scheduled us for an elective US so my DH could see and hear our baby. We had that on Thursday and it was amazing the difference in just 8 days! My next appt with OB is Jan 2nd.
Rants/raves: we planned to announce it to our extended families on Christmas, but my MIL took it upon herself to tell everyone. Ugh. Lesson learned
How are you feeling? Definitely an improvement overall. Still have random times of nausea but much better than the all day sickness of weeks past. Maybe a little bit less tired? Maybe that's just me hoping that I feel more awake. Constipation is still an issue half of the time.
Doctor's appointments/updates: Need to make my appt for my 1st trimester screening/NT scan! Can't wait to see our little bean again!
Rants/raves: My hubby has been awesome and my mother has been less than awesome. That about sums it up.
GTKY: What holiday tradition from your childhood are you most looking forward to continuing with your kid(s)? Driving around and looking at Christmas lights in different neighborhoods. My mom and aunt/uncle always took me to do this around Christmastime every time we went anywhere we would just drive around after we left and explore the lights. It always felt special.
Love 2010 / Marriage 2013 / Baby carriage EDD July 4th 2015
@lauralou2210 How exciting to see your baby and hear its heartbeat again next week! That's great that your husband is making so many meals and taking good care of you.
@traceyos I'm glad you're feeling better! I can't even imagine cooking holiday meal for 12 people at this point, thanks to my overly sensitive nose and stomach. Congrats on a good looking baby and healthy heartbeat!
@mrsklm09 I've lost 6-7 pounds as well, and I'm looking forward to getting my appetite back and putting that weight back on. I can't help but feel that my energy will come back once I start being able to eat more. FX for a good ultrasound on Monday!
@bookitup Congrats on your good ultrasound this week! I've also been dealing with an aversion to meat, and the only way I've been able to eat it is if it's been breaded, fried, and served on a bun. At least I have good justification for my trips to Wendy's and Chick-fil-A....
@laceecaitlyn I'm sorry for your previous losses. I hope you have a happy, healthy, and uneventful pregnancy, and that you get to take home this baby in July! What a wonderful birthday present.
@elride Congrats on making it back to the gym! I've been planning to get back into doing yoga, but between morning sickness and fatigue, it just hasn't happened yet. I'm hoping this will be the week I feel good enough to do it! That's really frustrating that your MIL took it upon herself to tell people.
@kristhegirl What a cute announcement! I wish we lived closer to family so that we could've done an announcement in person. One of DH's favorite Christmas memories was decorating the tree with his sister, so he's looking forward to doing that with our kids.
@tla0623 Congrats on feeling better! It's amazing what 11 hours of sleep will do for you. Me and DH probably aren't going to do the Santa tradition with our kids, but reading about how much you enjoyed it almost makes me reconsider...
@lncoolk I'm glad you're starting to feel better. Driving around looking at Christmas lights is a great tradition! When I was growing up, my aunt and uncle lived in an area where lots of people put up Christmas lights, so we'd go over to their house for a party in the afternoon on Christmas Eve, then once it got dark we'd take a drive around to see all the lights.
I had been feeing really good but in the last week I've thrown up twice, once this morning... So that sucks.
Next Dr appt is on December 30. Super excited!
Rave: just found out my little brother and his girlfriend are expecting sometime in August/September, yay!!! I am so excited that we will have babies so close :-)
GTKY: reading our two favorite Christmas books on Christmas Eve, Twas the Night Before Christmas and Holly Babies version of The Nativity. This is something my parents did with us since we were so little. Can't wait to do that with our LO!

@Fireworks813 That's so exciting that your brother and his GF are expecting as well! How awesome to have cousins so close in age! I also loved reading Christmas books, and I'm considering doing the "25 books of Christmas" countdown with my kids (basically an advent calendar where the kids unwrap a Christmas book every day in December leading up to Christmas Day).
How are you feeling? I'm pretty good other than the extreme fatigue and occasional nausea.
Doctor's appointments/updates: I have my NT US on Tuesday and am really looking forward to seeing baby. I'm nervous at the same time. This week I had my first MFM appointment and genetic counselling. My application to the province for NIPT/Panorama testing has been submitted. I should be covered because I have an x-linked chomoromal disorder, just a waiting game now. So many testing options, my head is spinning. My doctor is recommending Amnio because my disease is not tested for on an NIPT but I need a few weeks to think about it. It wouldn't change anything, but would allow us to plan a bit for what is to come.
Rants/raves: Sorry, big rant coming...My Manager is being EXTREMLY unsupportive of accomodating me for my medical appointments and says it I miss any time I have to work the weekend or OVERNIGHT to make up the time. I work weekends occasionally but there is no way I am working overnight. I'm transfering locations in two weeks, which i was looking forward to until I found out my current manager went and told the new one about my health 'problems'. to make it worse, I'm in HR so I am even more appaled by the way I am being treated. On top of that I was told I HAVE to tell my new manager I am pregnant because he has a 'right to know'. he doesn't have the right to know. I don't have anyone, and I will tell people when I am ready to, not when it is being demanded. I have a meeting with district HR first week of January it discuss my concerns because I am sick of this shit. My MFM suggested I go off on disability, or atleast work reduced hours. I refused it, but now I'm starting to think I should take it. Why am I helping them when they aren't willing to help me out?
GTKY: What holiday tradition from your childhood are you most looking forward to continuing with your kid(s)? It's not really a tradition, but I'm looking forward to continuing our family christmas. We get up, open stockings, have a nice warm breakfast, open gifts etc. They whole day is a tradition and I love it
How are you feeling? Pretty good the last few dayd.. the nausea had almost disappeared. I just throw up once in the momorning now! Yay for improvements. I'm still super exhausted though.
Doctor's appointments/updates: I have my NT scan and my next OB appointment on Jan 7. I can't wait to see my little nugget again.
Rants/raves: The inside of my house is still not decorated for Christmas and we r hosting this year. DH and DD are taking a nap so this is prime time for me to get work done but I just want to lay around. Also, we still have to buy gifts for 3 of the 4 children on my side of the family (we only buy for kids) and since DH is a little sick and I'm just getting better, we r staring and Amazon Prime membership just so we can order today and get the gifts in time for Christmas.
GTKY: What holiday tradition from your childhood are you most looking forward to continuing with your kids(s)? Listening to Christmas music and dancing around the house while decorating the tree. Also I plan to start a bunch of new ones when they are older.
How are you feeling? 2nd ER trip in a week for fluids and IV nausea meds, also an ultrasound for moderate/severe cramping
Doctor's appointments/updates: 12/23 for my 12 week and NTS coming up shortly after
Rants/raves: I'm so sick of feeling sick and tired, while trying to keep up with a 14-month old, homeschooling a 12-year old through the holidays is worthless and DH is gone so much for work I don't know how I'm keeping my head above water at this point
GTKY: What holiday tradition from your childhood are you most looking forward to continuing with your kid(s)? Just looking forward to time with the families and so Kellan can play with his many many cousins (50 first cousins on DHs side!)
@katdesear I'm totally with you on DH being gone. I didn't realize how much stress I had been under until he got home last night. I actually took a (much needed) nap today while DD napped and didn't feel overwhelming guilty about all the things I needed to get done instead. Hugs to you, I know how awful it is!
today was a decent day, but yesterday wasn't. hit and miss with the nausea.
this week's appointment wasn't as good as I had hoped, and I may have to move to Friday check in with a due date of July 31. I go again on the 2nd for another measurement.
DD started puking this afternoon, so now I'm on high alert for myself. I've taken one dose of apple cider vinegar, and will do another before I go to bed. luckily my plans for tomorrow were nothing so nothing changes.
the only traditions we have were around visiting family, so we're going to make our own!
Doctor's appointments/updates: Had my 12 wk appointment yesterday and heard the HB on the doppler, 162bpm!
Rants/raves: Still have Christmas shopping to do....BOOOOOOOO
GTKY: What holiday tradition from your childhood are you most looking forward to continuing with your kid(s)? Driving around looking for holiday lights.
Just got switched to a Saturday due date from a Tuesday!
Week 9 - olive
Feeling okay. Fatigue is still pretty bad and feel nauseous when I start to get hungry. Also a little emotional!
Updates - next ultrasound scheduled for Jan 15 - looking forward to it
Rants/raves - We will be telling family on Christmas day at Christmas dinner. I am looking forward to not having to pretend to not be tired anymore/dodge suspicions. I'm excited to get it out in the open, and to have people understand why I feel drained!
Christmas traditions to carry on - too many to name! We have a lot of cultural ones that I plan on passing on.
