Does anyone use this formula? My Doctor has me switching to it due to gas and explosive poop every other day (only ). He also nurses twice a day and receives the formula at the other feedings. Has it helped with the gas?
We started using it. He gets pumped breast milk once or twice a day but my supply is about dried up. I have noticed a difference in his gassiness (a lot less) and his fussiness (a lot less). We had to use the regular formula last night and I noticed a HUGE difference so this morning I made a quick run to Walmart before my husband had to get to work to get the sensitive. He was a much different baby all day.
I'm using Similac Total Comfort for my son (broken down proteins instead of lactose) for my son and it helped a lot with the gas he still toots up a storm but isn't as fussy
Not to hijack the post but for those of you that use the similac sensitive, did you LOs also have spit up issues? I've got a gassy baby that spits up a lot. It's not projectile and has lessened over time so we aren't worried about acid reflux but if I can switch to a different formula that may help that, it's worth a try. We are on Sam's brand gentle right now and I've been using gas drops, which have helped.
Ive noticed an increase in spit up and overall fussiness while eating, and after eating. I have a feeling he has reflux so I plan to talk to the pediatrician on Tuesday at his apt. However, I was wondering if any of you have noticed increased spit up on the Similac Sensitive? He only has about 20% formula and the rest is expressed breastmilk. I was thinking about switching to the similac spit up but not sure.. Just feel bad for my little guy. He even wakes up randomly spitting up where it comes out his nose and he's almost choking. Makes me extremely nervous..so needless to say he's still in my room
My LO was on neosure for the first few weeks when he was in the nicu then we switched to similac sensitive due to constipation issues. It was better but gassy/uncomfortable. Then we switched to gerber soothe which was a disaster. We are in the process of switching back to similac sensitive and plan on sticking with it. I think we should have waited a little longer before switching to a new formula. I feel awful putting him through formula changes. Who knew that finding the right formula would he so stressful. Good luck!

@starfruit14 what trouble did you have with Gerber soothe? We're on that right now and so far I think it's better than any similac for us, just curious so I can compare or watch for symptoms.
Also, similac makes one called Total Care. It's got a light purple lid. I've only seen it at Walgreens around here. Not sure why Walmart didn't have it as they have all the other similac varieties.
ETA: info.

When LO was on gerber soothe he became extremely gassy and fussy/up all night. We used gas drops to help and it wasn't working. He also became constipated. When we switched to sensitive we noticed a difference in him right away. Every baby responds differently. If your baby is doing well with soothe definitely stick with it. I felt awful switching formula especially switching to something that made him feel bad.
The one thing I personally didn't like about gerber was all if the clumps in the formula. I almost bought the dr brown mixer - they sell it at BRU.
