Im 12 weeks and still havent got to see a doctor...im waiting on my name to be in the medicaid system they wont let me make an appointment otherwise im getting nervous

Can you go to a planned parenthood or some other type of clinic in the meantime? Just to get a prenatal checkup?

Do you have a primary care physician? If not, call your local Planned Parenthood.

Have you had any prenatal care yet? If not, I 2nd PP's suggestions of your primary care dr or planned parenthood.

I don't know where you're from/what your state-provided care is like but I went to my health department and it took some tenacity but I finally managed to figure out how to get temporary coverage that lasts for 45 days until full coverage kicks in after the first of the year. You could try that? It was effective immediately. They gave me paperwork that day and then I got more official stuff in the mail the next week.

In California, there is specific coverage for women who even suspect they may be pregnant that lasts until they are able to get regular coverage. I don't know where you live but you should check it out, it's possible they have that other places as well.

I didn't have my 1st appointment till this week for the same reason. My friend who is a nurse practitioner told me that as long as nothing was abnormal I should be good and to make sure to take my vitamins. It is nerve wracking but remember that some women don't find out till about 2 months anyways. If you are sure it will kick in by Jan 1st, I would try to schedule one now because some places can't see you for a month or so.

It's faster if you go in person. That's if it's a medicaid office in your area. It takes longer if you mailed your app to the office. If it's been past 30days you definitely should contact them asap!!

Google pregnancy clinic in your area.. They usually get you in within a few days and give you an ultrasound to check on the baby
