Squeeee! We have two Chi-Dachshund mixes. I don't know if it's even possible for me to love any children as much as I love those dogs but I'll try. They're such brats but they're the smartest, most loving dogs I've ever had. They really are so cunning!

Congrats! Unwanted advice: get FIRM on the housebreaking FAST. I have a 5 year old that's still not fully "there." I wasn't strict enough in the beginning, and little dogs are so hard!

I can't decide on a name

and im terrified im going to accidentally hurt the puppy and im freaking out! If I can't take care of a puppy how will I take care of a baby?!?! Lol. But im sure I will be fine. (This is our 4th dog....)

DH full on stepped on my boy Gus when he was about 6 months old. He squealed and then was totally fine. It scared the shit out of me but they're resilient!

ETA.... People tell me this about newborns as I express my fear of being a mother, and it's weird that I don't believe them....

Awwww!!! Your so lucky. I've always wanted a dog but my SO won't let me - to be fair it is because we both work long hours but I was hoping now I'm going to be on maternity leave for a year then go back part-time then it might be possible but according to friends and family I'm being rediculous getting a puppy and a baby. I want a dashound (but I hadn't even considered a dashound/chihuahua cross breed!) I'm googling, SO CUTE! x

Awwww, love! You will be good. We have 4 dogs too. 3 big, 1 tiny. They drive me bonkers sometimes, but I definitely love 'em!

Oh they're the best. Not quite as anxious as full Chihuahuas, not as big on digging as full Dachshunds, plus you alleviate a lot of the health concerns with both breeds by mixing.

I have a 13 year old pure breed black and white Chihuahua and her brother passed away a year ago, so I am happy to have a second Chihuahua back in my life

my 13 year old is pissed, he wants to play and she just wants to be left alone.

Awww I'm so jealous! We lost a cat last week and secretly I'm hoping so hard that DH gets me a kitten. But we've talked about how waiting until we have the baby before deciding on another pet is probably best... We still have 1 cat.
