So I haven't actually introduced myself, and I apologize, but I have been a lurker since finding out I was pregnant back in July timeframe. Today, at 28w3d I was admitted to the hospital with preeclampsia. I have some symptoms that could classify it as severe I guess, but most are in the mild range. Most people I know or have heard of who have had it, developed it way later in the pregnancy. It's really freaking me out how early and quickly this has come on. Good news though, is my doctor sent me to a different hospital that has a higher level neonatal unit, so that is a little calming, I guess.
I was just wondering if any other March moms out there have this diagnosis yet? Or if anyone has had any experience or successful stories with it.
Update: thank you so much to everyone for their kind words, it is very much appreciated. I had an ultrasound yesterday to see how the baby is looking and if the placenta is still functioning. Looks like the baby weighs 2 pounds 8 ounces which the doctor seemed very happy with. And the placenta seems to be functioning just as it should at this point. Based on high Bp and protein, they have officially categorized me as severe, but we are hoping to just rest it out here at the hospital until the baby can develop more. Both baby and I are being very closely monitored which is very reassuring. Sounds like they will induce somewhere between 32-34 weeks but won't risk me going further. Thank you again to everyone for their stories and support.
Re: Preeclampsia Update
I haven't been diagnosed but I'm being closely monitored because I have a kidney condition. I'm at a slightly higher risk, but so far so good.
Sounds like you have good doctors caring for you!

Anyway, I haven't experienced this and have no advice unfortunately but t&p your way. You're in the best place for this situation and even if the worst were to happen and baby had to be born right this moment, the chances for survival are over 90%, and that number grows every day. Good luck mama!

Proud VBAC, natural birth, breastfeeding, cloth diapering momma!
One of my good friends had pre-e and she went into labor at about 35 weeks. Everything with the little guy was fine but they kept her for a week and him for two. 8 months later and you would have never known. Keep your spirits up and take care!!
I am currently battling same issue now. I have been on bedrest since week 25. I just started spilling protein last week and will be delivering soon. I am 34 weeks today. This pregnancy my doc placed me on a baby aspirin which I feel has made the biggest difference on pushing developing the condition later. It decreases chances of developing by 24 percent.
I know how scary it is, sounds like you are in great hands and I will be saying prayers for you and the baby. Do what they tell you and praying you can wait a little longer to deliver.
Hang in there!!
