Anyone have an Uppababy G-luxe?

And here I was complaining last week that I never won anything... So we won a 200$ gift card at a local baby boutique (the one where we usually only buy presents for other people's kids because $$$). Since we'll be traveling quite a bit next year, I made the case for getting an umbrella stroller instead of 10kg of wooden toys that are 1) cheaper in Europe anyway and 2) would just clutter up the apt.
The G-luxe caught my eye, but BF wants more information from people who use one. If you have one, how happy are you with it?

Thanks!

  • Loading the player...
  • I used to know someone who would probably own something expensive like this...
  • I have the glite - the gluxe can recline quite a bit so I guess it's easier if you want them to nap in it. I love the glite and it's less expensive/weighs less.

Also, what's the thing called that screws into any car seat? It turns a car seat into a stroller for travel? I think it's called the travelmate by Gogo kids but there are lots of different brands.

How many expensive strollers and car seats can fit into one house?

  • As I live in the Land of Fancy Strollers, people are always discussing the g-lite vs. g-luxe on our parents listserv. People seem to really love them both, difference being that they seem to be able to use the g-luxe as a primary stroller. It's more sturdy and reclines.

One thing people do note is that the wheels aren't "off road" wheels, which, if you live in a place with snow and/or bumpy sidewalks, may not be as great as the ones on a more hard-core stroller?

All that said, DD goes in a stroller maybe once a month, so who am I to talk.

  • Is @Byjove03 really who she says she is? I question everything now!

Just kidding. You've met @econmama so I know you're fo reals.
  • I'm not sure if I should admit it now, but we have the G-luxe and really like it. It folds very easily, with one hand, has a shoulder carry strap, and is super light to haul around. We got it for our WDW trip and it was very easy to take on and off of the trains, boats, and buses. The recline feature is great, too.

I definitely prefer my bigger stroller for long walks around the neighborhood, but the g-luxe is easier to get in and out of the car, and smaller for getting through small spaces while shopping and such.
