My LO loves solids and eats at least 2-4oz three times a day. His poop is medium to hard turds now. Is this normal? I have tried everything to make it softer!!!
Your LO is eating solids so his poop should be more solid and firm. Does he strain when having a bowel movement or look like he's in pain or having difficulty? If you're worried about them being too hard or solid, I would ask your pedi about it. You might be able to just call and talk to the nurse practitioner or the pedi.
Also, three times a day for solids seems like a lot. At our 6 month appointment our pedi said not to introduce a second meal until 7 months. Perhaps he is getting too much solid food? Every baby is different though so maybe 3 meals is just fine for yours. I would maybe talk to your pedi about this too, if you haven't.
my dd is 6 months old and is eating 3 - stage 2 gerber foods a day also and her poops are harder but i have been giving her prunes every other day in the morning and it seems to help:)
How often is he going? I am not sure that it even makes a difference but...
Things that have been helping us - giving a few ounces of water/juice with each meal, doing lots of 'exercise', and giving certain foods - squash seems to help a lot. If we do too much banana or rice cereal, the poops don't come as easily.
Sometimes they're harder and other times he's still having poopslosions.
